      Avondale, Arizona

Located near the meeting of the Gila and Agua Fria Rivers in the southwest Valley, the park includes seasonal wetland or riparian area during our winter and monsoon rains. The majority of the park remains pristine desert, very similar in appearance to the landscape seen by the first settlers and explorers. The Sierra Estrella range, or Star Mountains, was once within the Mexican border, and remained so until the Gadsden Purchase in 1853. Today, many amenities are available to visitors, including the only grass picnic area (65-acres) in the Maricopa County Park System. Show less

      Nice Park

This is a huge park. 1365 sites. Crammed in pretty tight, but fairly clean and very nice staff. Most of the sites are pull thru so that’s a bonus.

      Beautiful Vista

Very large park with many different levels of camping experiences. From dry camping to full on glamping ! I stayed at Vista Pt. Dry camp. The views were beautiful. I stayed 10 days and as a single women I felt very safe. Security makes it's rounds and you can't get into the park after leaving without your pass. The one thing I would mention the drive up to the PT is rather steep, but there were different sized rigs up there is it is doable. I didn't use the amenities as I was away most days visiting with my daughter who lives in the valley.

Good RV park, with lots of amenities

We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed for just an overnight in late April. This is a big resort and comprised mostly of permanent residents with a central pull-through area for transients. The sites are gravel and fairly close together, but the CG is clean and“patrolled” frequently by folks on golf carts. If you’re a Class A or C towing, you’ll probably have to drop to to access the hookups, as they are at the back end of the pull-throughs, not toward the middle as they usually are.

AT&T coverage was quite good, with 2-3 Bars of 5G+ service and speeds up to 23 MB/s. The CG WiFi was pretty decent as well, with speeds up to 4 MB/s, but varied depending on congestion.

Awkward and crammed Face to face sites

If you’re a social butterfly and don’t have dogs, this place could work. The sites are really crammed in and on top of that, your door is face to face with your neighbor which makes it so awkward to do anything outside when you don’t want to talk to an overly chatty neighbor. Or if you or your neighbors have unfriendly dogs they can’t be out at the same time. Facilities are decent, same with pool. Adequate dog parks but nowhere for dogs to pee near sites other than gravel.

      Great escape outside Phoenix

Reserved 7 days at Lake Pleasant RV to get familiar with my new camper. Chose the dry site “Vista Point” and at first was a little weary but was pleasantly surprised how many others were doing the same. The views from my spot were pretty epic. Relaxed and fished off the shoreline. Going to have to revisit after doing more research on the fishing here. They do have port a pottys which were actually clean. The convenience store was a cool feature saving me from having to drive 20min to get some drinks. Dillons restaurant smelled delicious but I packed too much food to not cook it up. Didn’t really run into anyone not friendly or in a good mood. I’ll definitely be back here.

      Expensive for dry camping

$26/night - 2 night minimum. You have to pay an extra $10/night to use the bathrooms/showers. Dump station and water fill up included in $26/night

Lake Pleasant doesn’t have pleasant views

Probably a really fun place to stay if you have an ATV. Those are buzzing around all over the place going to and coming from off-roading trails

      Awesome Boondocking experience !

Scott and Kevin have a great piece of property they love To share! Located in a valley of the Bradshaw mountains just about and hour and a half from Phoenix, this is an awesome getaway- away from it all. I boondocked for a couple days and enjoyed the quiet solitude of the canyon, enjoyed hiking, and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It’s a rocky dirt road to get here, but my class C rv easily made it- and I’ve taken it in worse roads. Well worth the effort, give this place a try! thanks Kevin and Scott!

      Beautiful spot

Very nice view of the lake from our camp spot. Donkeys free roaming around. Quiet and clean campground area. There is quite a bit of garbage down around the lake though when we walked down some of the trails.

      Served us well

We needed a place in or near Buckeye and located this place. Nice bathrooms, hot showers. We were in a Class B close to the entrance so didn’t have any issues with size of sites. Didn’t try any amenities beyond our hookups which worked well, which is why I’m going with 4 rather than 5 stars. -I just can’t rate them.

      Good place - Quiet

Convenient to SE Phoenix area. Far enough from the freeway to be quiet. An oasis surrounded by fields. Clean restrooms, pools, grounds, roads, sites. Nice folks working there. Refundable $20 deposit to get bathroom key. Did not use laundry. Stayed 3 nights. Very open, but a tree between each rig. Not much shade. Full hookups but no CATV. $73 per night. I will. Stay here again when I’m in the area.

Crowded parking lot for RVs, but there are foll hookups, clean showers, and a pool.

Just a basic parking lot with mostly pull thru sites that are pretty level. No seperation between sites so smells, smoke and conversations infiltrate other sites. The bathroom/shower house is clean, and the park is clean as well. It was just too crowded for us.

      Disappointed

Well we stayed here for two nights and frankly I wasn’t very impressed. The Campground is really only for permanent residents, everyone else ends up in a dirt lot essentially. Nearest bathrooms were a bit of a hike, so were all amenities. We paid for water and electric. The noise level was crazy... especially as we have a pop-up. I guess they don’t really enforce quiet hours. We got in late and finding our campsite was hard in the dark if you’ve never been there before. Lots of bugs at night. Honestly you pay $50 a night just to be by a lake and for me it wasn’t worth it 🤷‍♀️.

      Clean RV park

Easy to get to from the 10 freeway, good sized RV park w decent sized sites, park is kept clean, pool, Pickleball courts, cornhole area, dog park, huge laundry room, and the people are nice. Regular pull through spots are kind of like buddy spots as your doors face each other. Back in and deluxe sites are decent sized. Roadways are asphalt and large enough to maneuver bigger rigs through. All sites are full hook up w 30 & 50 amp electrical.

      Quiet Park

Very clean and quiet RV park. Most of the sites are taken by people who live here full time in either a moveable RV or a trailer home. We stayed here over New Year’s 20/21 and most people where inside by sunset and not making any noise. Even during the day while people were out, it was still very quiet. The roads coming into the site are narrow and people sometimes have their vehicles parked in part of the roadway which makes it hard to drive your RV around to park it or leave. When security showed us where our spot was, he asked us if we wanted him to ask a resident to move his truck so we could park. The park sells propane onsite which was very convenient, and you can also purchase it if you are not staying at the park. They do allow RV’s that are over 10 years in good condition.

      Quick Weekend Trip

Easy access to the site and close to hiking, the marina, and off roading trails. Have a store on the site which is also very convenient. Spots are small and not much for scenic views, so wouldn’t be my first choice if you’re just looking for a quick camping trip and spending a lot of time at the site.
