    Zion West RV Park

Convenient location to Bryce and Zion

I have stayed here twice in 2020. Once in January and again in July. I haven’t stayed in an rv but they do have glamping tents and tiny houses to rent on Airbnb for reasonable prices.

This place is about 45 minutes from Zion National park and 2 hours from Bryce Canyon.

There’s a laundry room for you to do laundry (bring your own quarters) and the bathrooms are nice and clean. You don’t get as much privacy for the showers as I’d prefer but it’s not that terrible since I think only Airbnb guests uses the restrooms and not the rv guests. WiFi was available for us which helped plan our hikes.

There are tables around the laundry room building to sit at and relax. It’s a very quiet campground too which made sitting out in the evening very peaceful. The owners are so nice and accommodating. Cell service was okay but goes in and out (1-2 bars for Verizon)

    Zion River Resort

Nice RV Park, wifi is slow though

The park itself is nice. Full hook ups, heated pool and hot tub. Restrooms and laundry on site. Propane also on site. There are also a series of fenced in dog parks (3). So if you have dogs that don’t get along with other dogs that’s a plus because you can just go in a different one. The wifi is kind of hit or miss sometimes though. When the park is full at peak times good luck streaming anything. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t spring for the back in river spots unless you just want privacy behind you. The view for us isn’t that great as there is a rock wall behind you so your view is actually of that unless you have a very big rig. It is very close to Springdale and Zion National Park which is very convenient and why we chose it so four stars.

    Snow Canyon State Park Campground

    Not what we had hoped

We reserved several nights here, based on the expectation of cell reception and electric. I'm working remotely, so these are must haves. When we got there, we found that there was zero service on either of our carriers, and no WiFi available.

Only the RV sites have power, and the RV sites were pathetically small. They were basically parking spots with tiny shared picnic tables between them. It looked more like a Walmart parking lot than a campsite. Very disappointing.

If you're able to go without power and internet, the tent sites were fairly nice. But if you need either, look elsewhere.

    Zion River Resort

    Great location & clean resort

We stayed a week. They are very good to insure rules are followed. They are constantly cleaning the grounds (love it). Staff is friendly.

Sites - we had a pull thru. Perfect! Concrete parking with grass & rock pebbles on the side. Back in spots are available. Lots is tall trees to provide shade. Virgin river surrounding the resort.

Amenities- warm & clean pool. Jacuzzi. The store is nifty and open until 8. We have run over to ice cream desserts ☺️. Laundry rooms are ready on site.

Around the place - they gave us a few places to go when we arrived. We have been to both Ghost towns (excellent stops) & plan on a few more they told us about. So close to Zion & they will even drip you off at the base camp.

    Zion River Resort

    Best RV Park in Utah

This place is so nice! Spacious shower stalls with toilet, sink, bench and shower. Laundry facilities. Year round heated pool and hot tub. Store on site with decent prices. All spots have a tree with grass, picnic table and concrete pads. Also has small playground and dog park. Access to Virgin River with a primitive trail.

    Zion River Resort

    Fun, cute and clean!

This was a great place to stop for a couple of nights! Our family was on our way around Utah with our camper and stopped here first. The River was BEAUTIFUL, my 8 year old swam in it, it was the perfect temperature to stand in bare feet. The “Social Hall” is adorable, there are games you can play and they have events like movie night, coffee every morning and ice cream hour for the kids. There was a laundry room so we were able to get all of our clothes clean before embarking on our dry camping adventures. Full hook ups, a shade tree and a fire ring made it so convenient to pull up the camper and unload. We loved it! A few tips- if you are going to order food from the grill or ice cream for ice cream hour, you have to go to the front desk to get tickets to pay for your food with when you order at the window. If you go to do laundry, be prompt when your clothes are done! It’s a busy place with 4 washers and 4 dryers, so you have to move your clothes quick. Also- you can’t set up a tent in the RV spots, and they mean it. We had a tent setup to store things in and a friend who was going to set up his tent behind our camper and they asked us to take them down! No big deal, but a good thing to know!

    WillowWind RV Park

Best wifi experience in an RV park

We needed stable, steady Internet for a month. While we regularly travel with two hotspots for Internet coverage, we barely needed to use them.

We stayed in one of the satellite friendly spots. Unfortunately, the space we were in was not so "friendly" due to the mature trees on either side. The satellite friendly spots are in the back of the RV park, and the aisle behind us had newer/younger trees that would not block satellite (but also would provide no shade).

Your experience at this park may vary. There were clearly a lot of monthly/semi-permanent residents at this park, especially on the back in spots at the edges. We would go back here, but we'd get a pull-through site next time.

    Pros:

    - Internet.

    - Location in reference to Zion, Bryce, and Cedar Breaks.

    - Post office (for general delivery) is 2-3 blocks away.

    - Major restaurants and retail stores within 10-15 miles (St. George).

    - At least 3 state parks within a 20 mile radius, two are water sport havens (Sand Hollow and Quail Creek) and the other is hiking trail nirvana (Snow Canyon).

    Cons:

    - No pool on site.

    - Location of trees on RV space meant that we could not use our patio awning for the month. If we positioned our RV to allow us to use the awning, we wouldn't be able to park our tow vehicle at all.

    - Our RV space was in the area with grass between the spaces. Sprinklers were programmed for daily delivery, and because of the width of the concrete pad, we were getting hard water stains on our RV (the sprinkler head pointed directly at our steps out of the RV). We noticed that on some of the "monthly" sites, there were plastic sprinkler head "deterrents" that would keep the spray from overshooting onto the concrete pad.

    Zion River Resort

Nice RV park, not ideal for tents

We stayed here for 4 nights in October 2020 while tent camping.  We selected this location because we were working from the road while also exploring National Parks and this met our criteria.

    Pros:

-Less than a 30 minute drive to Zion National Park from here

-Great WiFi from the campground and cell service (T-Mobile)- totally possible to work remotely from here

-Nice amenities including a "social hall"- basically a large living room with some couches and tables.  We worked from here and felt safe even during COVID because there was literally never anyone else in here.

-Pool if you're interested in that.  We didn't use it, but it wasn't that crowded.

-Store is very well stocked.  Basically a small grocery story and gifty type items.  Prices are not that ridiculous.

-Picnic pavilion/camp kitchen with dishwashing sinks and covered picnic tables

-Bathrooms were updated and had hot showers (though showers have a 7 minute limit)

    -Staff was friendly and helpful

-Bathhouse also has laundry (coin operated)

    Cons:

-The 4 tent sites are right next to each other basically in a gravel parking lot.  This place is really an nice RV park that then seemed to add in the tent area.  If you don't want to be right next to your neighbors, you will not like this.  That being said, we felt like we were able to be far enough away during COVID.

-There is no shade at the tent sites.  The RV sites each seemed to have a tree, but none in the tent area.  It would be pretty miserable to site out here during the day.  We used the picnic pavilion and the social hall, so were ok.

-Less COVID precautions than I've seen at other campground- e.g. the only sanitizer was outside the store/office- none in the bathhouse, laundry areas, social hall, etc.- high touch places.  They did have bottles of cleaning spray out, but no place had paper towels, so that felt pointless honestly.

Overall, if you're looking for amenities, including WiFi, are RV camping, want a good location to Zion, this is a great place and I recommend it.  If you're looking for a really great tent site, you won't find it here.
