Just minutes from Zion National Park, we are ideally located for easy access to several of the nation’s most beautiful parks. Zion River Resort is the perfect base camp for day trips to Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Canyon North Rim, Cedar Breaks National Monument and many other of the Southwest's most popular destinations. Visit our Itineraries page for vacation adventure ideas and our Calendar to see the exciting events we offer throughout the year. For your comfort, each site has full hook-ups, a shade tree, fire ring (with the exception of 4 sites), picnic table, free Wi-Fi, and cable television. Pull thru sites are 60-70 feet long with a concrete pad and a grassy area perfect for relaxing on your lounge chair. Riverside Back-In sites average 40-50 feet deep, have gravel, and the Virgin River flowing behind them. There is a berm running along the river’s edge for the protection of our young guests; however, you can hear the river running all year. Standard Back-In sites range from 30-40 feet deep, have 30 amp electric, and are available with either a concrete pad & grass or gravel only. These sites are perfect for smaller RVs. Please help us maintain our desert grass by not putting down mats, rugs, or carpets. We will be happy to help you choose just the right site for your preferences and needs. Tent sites are located beside the Virgin River, have small pea gravel, a fire ring, picnic table, and electrical outlet. Potable water is located at either end of the tenting area. The camper kitchen is available for cooking and washing dishes. The restrooms, showers, and laundry are close to the tent area. All resort facilities are included.

    Zion River Resort

    This place is outstanding!

Definitely not “dyrt” - this is top-notch glamping at its best! Stayed here 2 nights. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable, and service goes above and beyond. There was a mixup upon our check-in (not the fault of the resort), that was a bit sensitive. It was handled professionally, swiftly, and in a manner that left all parties completely satisfied. Staff is on top of every detail. We watched crews clean and prep sites as soon as a camper checked out, and were amazed by the thoroughness and thoughtful touches.
There are events, cookouts and evening ice cream, the store is enjoyable to browse, and the personal touch here exceeds expectations!

    Zion West RV Park

Convenient location to Bryce and Zion

I have stayed here twice in 2020. Once in January and again in July. I haven’t stayed in an rv but they do have glamping tents and tiny houses to rent on Airbnb for reasonable prices.

This place is about 45 minutes from Zion National park and 2 hours from Bryce Canyon.

There’s a laundry room for you to do laundry (bring your own quarters) and the bathrooms are nice and clean. You don’t get as much privacy for the showers as I’d prefer but it’s not that terrible since I think only Airbnb guests uses the restrooms and not the rv guests. WiFi was available for us which helped plan our hikes.

There are tables around the laundry room building to sit at and relax. It’s a very quiet campground too which made sitting out in the evening very peaceful. The owners are so nice and accommodating. Cell service was okay but goes in and out (1-2 bars for Verizon)

    Snow Canyon State Park Campground

    One of my go-to campgrounds

Snow Canyon is a still relatively unknown place near St George, Utah. There is SO much to do around there and there are great hikes that leave from this campground which makes it even better. Padres canyon and three ponds are two of my favorites. There is rocks to climb on right around the site and lots more trails within a 5 minute drive. There are great restrooms, large group areas that include a pavilion which is always helpful when it is pouring rain while you are trying to eat with a large group.

    Nice in Cool Weather

We stopped at Snow Canyon to split up our trip home. It's beautiful and reminded us of Kodachrome Basin, but St. George is HOT in late June. Phoenicians can take the heat, but we absolutely do no want it on vacation! We planned to stay for two nights, but when it was 97 degrees we figured we may as well just head for home. Our site had hookup so we could run the AC, but what's the point in being holed up in the Airstream?

We did take a hike after the sun when down around 8:30 pm. The petrified sand dunes were cool and the rocks across the street from the campground were fun to climb (you aren't permitted to climb the rocks in the campground).

As stated previously, the hookup sites are tight together, but 15A and B are around the corner from the "parking lot" ones. We plugged in but filled our tank with water as A and B share the spigot in the middle so you can't stay hooked up to the water. Also, bring your own shade canopy. Every site is pretty much in full sun.

Snow Canyon seems like a place we will revisit in a cooler season. Very pretty place, even if it is located at the end of a residential neighborhood.

    Beautiful Scenery

Dry camping. They have a few spots with hook ups but you are basically in a parking lot just feet away from next RV. Many spots not level. No shade. Scenery is very nice. Colored rocks. Not far from St.George. Was very hot for May. They have showers public restrooms.

    Amazing place

I had no idea this place existed and I’ve been driving through St. George for years. There is a lot of beautiful variety in the landscapes within the park. The park fee was $10 but if you camp at Snow Canyon, it’s included in the cost.

The sand pit reminded me of something from the Flintstones. A great spot to take your kids to play in this super soft, red sand. I would recommended taking a bike or a longboard (like I did in my video) and ride along the paved sidewalks. You get to be immersed in the vegetation and have a great view of the canyons. Definitely will be returning soon!

    Amazing Spring Camping Spot

I'd recommend this as an early spring camp outing. The temps climb quickly in Southern Utah in late spring. My kids had a blast in the sand dune area.

    Beautiful!

Came here for an evening bike ride and backpackers dinner to watch the sunset and see some stars. It was peaceful and beautiful! The 3 mile paved bike path is brand new and I enjoyed riding through the park.

Bathrooms were clean and the campground was full but seemed quiet and nice. I made some dinner at the picnic tables and only had to share the space with a squirrel. This is a good day use area but I’d definitely come back and camp here. It’s a well thought out park with well marked trails and information a long the way to make your hikes more interesting.

Cell service was okay (1-2 bars with Verizon). There’s drinkable water pipes too which was nice to fill my water bottles.

The Rona helped us reserve a site

SCSP is amazing. We live about a 5 minute drive from the South entrance. We’ve lived in the area for 3 years now so we’ve hiked everything in Snow Canyon multiple times, but it’s gotten so popular that it’s hard to get a site without reserving pretty far in to the future. We are more spontaneous than we are planners so we are usually out of luck. But this time we got site 21, which is awesome, on Easter Weekend with no notice.. only because the corona virus was keeping non-locals out of the Park.

    Nice campsites, pretty setting

We did the tent sites. Excellent sites, though sites closer to the center of the canyon have zero shade. But well built, with a picnic table and grill, and leveled. Pretty little state park but...one bathroom was broken and the code they gave us for the women's showers didn't work. Very confused young man as my wife exited the man's shower.

    Gate Code after 10pm

We didn’t know. Didn’t see it posted. Gate closes by 10pm. They also didn’t answer the phone after 8pm when we called to let them know our arrival would be after dark. Darn the time change. But they were very nice once we got ahold of them for the trip back. This spot is gorgeous. Close to the road and folks do zoom down the 10mph road in the middle of the night - so its loud and would wake a light sleeper in a tent (or car like we got stuck sleeping in🙄). But the views of the white and red striated rocks were breathtaking. There were no biting bugs to speak of in late August, but it was super hot until about 11pm. It was just an overnight spot for us to get on our way and we can’t wait to come back in fall or spring with the bikes! Bathrooms were clean. No shower to speak of. Hook ups were good and dump station was easy. But spots are narrow. We had enough room for our driver side slide to go out but likely not a passenger side slide and not our awning. No need since there were covered picnic tables anyway. They were clean and the grounds were kept nice as well. Our kiddo had fun at the park and there was shady grassy spot for the dog.

    Beautiful park

We pulled in on a Saturday night, no reservations, but lucked out and grabbed the last site in the park to pitch our tent. RV spaces are VERY close together, but if you don’t mind not having hook ups, head to the back of the park. Really pretty sites, not on top of each other. Great views. Park has showers. Bathroom was ok. Not too far off I-15 to make it a stop on your way further north.

    Disappointed

This is a wonderful campground. The sites are well designed and some are really special. The reason I gave it only three stars has to do with pets. Dogs are not allowed on any hiking trails. They are allowed, however, on the paved bicycle trail which felt dangerous for both dogs and bicyclists. My 17 year old cat is a well seasoned camper. He free ranges around where he feels comfortable and always knows where home lies. The Camp Ranger ordered my cat to be leashed. That was a first in four months of camping and I knew it would not go well. We were going to stay for one week but left after only one night. Disappointed.

    Not what we had hoped

We reserved several nights here, based on the expectation of cell reception and electric. I'm working remotely, so these are must haves. When we got there, we found that there was zero service on either of our carriers, and no WiFi available.

Only the RV sites have power, and the RV sites were pathetically small. They were basically parking spots with tiny shared picnic tables between them. It looked more like a Walmart parking lot than a campsite. Very disappointing.

If you're able to go without power and internet, the tent sites were fairly nice. But if you need either, look elsewhere.

    Beautiful parking lot

3.5 really. The park is beautiful and the location of the campground was as well. However, sites 1-14 are basically parking spots. You are really close to your neighbors and have very little privacy. But there are some tent sites with power that are more spread out. We will get one of them next time.

If you’re going to Zion ....

Don’t skip Snow Canyon. It’s absolutely gorgeous and never crowded. I’ve stayed here three times now and absolutely love it. Surprised by some of the reviews. Yes, the pull-thru sites are very close together (I’ve never stayed in one) but the rest are very spacious. Lots of trails and a walking /bike path that runs the long of the park (dog-friendly too!)

    Snow Canyon State Park Campground

Nice and quiet with big city conveniences

Great campground tucked right pass the hustle and bustle in St. George. There are 2 entrances to the park, you want to take the one to the right per your navigation, the other entrance outs you far out from the actual campground entrance. Check-in was very easy and campground hosts were very present. Sites 1-14 are a tight squeeze and on top of each other. Try to book in the outer loop. Sites 15A, 17 & 18 are great spots with nice tent pads. I was in Spot 15B and I don't recommend it. It's basically an extension of 15A and luckily we had a small 13' travel trailer and even then it was a tight squeeze. We parked in as if it were basic parking lot spot. If you had anything bigger, you would basically be nose to nose with 15A. The tent pad was the only nice thing about my spot. The location of the campground is great as you are within walking distance to multiple hikes. The bathrooms were always clean and the shower were over on the other side of the campgrounds. On the side of the showers, there are some nice secluded spots (Sites 20+). Most are first come, first serve but no hook-ups. Will definitely be back only if we could book a different spot

    Beautiful Place to Visit!

Stayed here for the weekend. First time camping here. The non-hookup sites are MUCH better than the ones with hookups. The hookup sites are VERY narrow (some as little as 10 feet wide) and difficult to pull into. I would not recommend staying in them. The park is beautiful to see and there are many great hikes. I would highly recommend staying in the park to be able to enjoy all of the scenery.
