Dry and hot

Not great! Even in the winter it is dry and hot. Lots of dust gets kicked up by passing vehicles.

Dispersed and barren

First and foremost keep your eyes on temperature and property in this area and make sure you’re setting up in used areas and not just driving all over the landscape

I camped here in June and thankfully I was prepared because it was a cooker and there isn’t a lot of shade or cover so you need to bring with you whatever you can to protect from the sun. Once you’re all setup then it’s really a nice quiet high desert landscape. Saw numerous snakes, lizards, and tons of different birds if you’re into that.

Hiking is fun and more exploration than anything. Dust in the drier months so anyone driving through will raise quite a bit and it’s usually atvs, side by sides, etc doing it.

No water, my cell service wasn’t great but I could get bars here and there
