Ponderosa pines and granite boulders define the landscape at this free dispersed area along Senator Highway, roughly two miles outside Crown King. Roads are rough enough that trailers add significant drive time, and rigs over 30 feet are not well-suited to the access routes. Deer are frequently spotted nearby. Gas and water are available in town, and dispersed camping around Prescott National Forest follows no-fee, leave-no-trace norms throughout the area. Campers wanting a roof overhead can check out Crown King Cabins a short distance north.
