Dusty but beautiful at the top

People floor it through three forest there and there's tons on during the dry season. The wet season is very muddy and difficult for small vehicles like mini vans to navigate. The road is really washed out and neglected. Aside from that, if you make it to the top, you will see a gorgeous prarie full of wildflowers and mountain views.

Road to campsite closed.

There was not snow but the road was closed. Probably a seasonal closure. We stayed nearby and a strom did come in overnight. 4-6 inches of snow.

Great dispersed spot!

There are plenty of spots off 151, in the middle of gorgeous Ponderosa forest. The road is accessible by all cars I would think. There are a few aspens scattered here and there. It’s about a 20-25 minute drive into town!

Beauty of a spot

My wife kids and I genuinely enjoyed the little spot we found off the 151 forest service road. We found several service roads that branched off the main service road that led to our little gem of a spot in the yellow and gold aspens. Little to no traffic, quiet nights with no loud neighbors. Certainly a spot we’d go back too.

Great lively spot

I love this area! I've used a couple of spots now, and there's usually cows, but they are polite.

Hart Prarie Dispersed Camping

We love to boondock and this location was awesome.  Open enough for our solar panels to get a lot of direct sunlight, far enough off the beaten trail that there was not that many other campers nearby.  A lot of great hiking nearby and just a few minutes out of Flagstaff if one wanted to go into town for any reason.
