Desert Trails RV Park operates as an adults-only resort accommodating RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups on gravel sites. Located on the edge of Saguaro National Park, the facility charges $45-75 per night and accepts reservations. Pull-through sites provide easy maneuvering for larger rigs, while full electric, water, and sewer connections serve long-term and short-term guests alike.
The park attracts a social community of seasonal visitors, particularly during winter months when planned activities run regularly. Campers report the atmosphere leans toward a snowbird crowd, with many long-term residents who interact frequently with each other. "Easy pull throughs all hook ups, clean bathrooms with laundry," notes Diane M.. Summer conditions present challenges, with reviewers mentioning hot shower buildings during warmer months.
Amenities include clean restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and WiFi, though signal strength varies by site. The park provides dump station access and maintains a TV lounge for guests. Some visitors find the density of sites creates a crowded feel, while others appreciate the social environment and organized entertainment options. Food trucks occasionally visit the property.
Trail access leads directly from campsites into surrounding desert terrain. For additional camping options in the region, campers can explore campsites outside Cortaro or nearby Justin's Diamond J RV Park, located less than half a mile northwest.
Description
Our natural, unspoiled desert setting is the main draw to Desert Trails RV Park in Tucson, Arizona. But we have also accumulated many amenities since 1998, and we surprise our guests with the extent of our facilities. We are an adult 40+ RV park and attract an energetic customer base. This is reflected in our hiking, biking, dances, aerobics, and other outdoor activities. We offer a campground atmosphere, unlike other RV Parks, and don’t offer “annual rates” for permanent residents. Every “off-season” we upgrade infrastructure as well as improve existing buildings and create new spaces for expanding activities. The Trailer Life (Good Sam) directory recognizes this too, by increasing our “ratings” to 9/9/9. Not under any measurable category are the amazing artists who perform 2-3 times per week. Our enthusiastic audiences also like the conventional “shows.” All evenings are well attended and generate an “electric” intimate atmosphere which encourages top names to return to our relatively small venue at Desert Trails. On nights without live music, we fill up the rest of the schedule with lectures, bingo, karaoke, poker, and games.
