Bouse Wash Rest Area - Westbound

Travelers on Interstate 10 can pull into this westbound rest area for overnight parking between Phoenix and the California border. The facility separates car and big rig parking areas, which helps reduce noise levels for smaller vehicles, though highway sounds remain audible throughout the night.

The rest area provides basic amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, and designated pet areas with waste bags. Campers report ample space for dog walking, though ground litter from previous visitors can be an issue. Water for refilling bottles may not always be available. For those wanting full hookups, Pride Travel Center — Salome sits seven miles west with RV services.

Decent Free Spot

Felt safe enough. There was a lot of space for my dogs to run and play without disturbing other campers, although there is a lot of trash on the ground from previous campers. Close to downtown Tucson and Saguaro National Park- Tucson Mountain District.

Average Rest Area

This rest area has the car and big rig parking separate so the noise level was lower for those parked with the cars. It's still very close to the highway though. Overall I'd say average noise level.

There was some lighting but not a lot. There was quite a bit of space for dog walking and they provided poop bags.

They did not have a water source for refilling bottles when I was there which was sad but considered their water conservation efforts understandable.

The bathrooms were decently clean when I got there but got trashed overnight. They obviously did their best to clean but people are disgusting.

Overall, I was happy with my overnight stay.
