David S. noted "lots of camping spots" that remain "widely dispersed" despite the possibility of neighbors within 30-40 yards. Campers report good Verizon and AT&T cell reception throughout the area. The landscape supports free-range cattle, though sightings vary, and pronghorn antelope appear regularly in the vicinity.
The dirt access road requires cautious driving but remains manageable for most vehicles in dry conditions. A "no trespassing" sign marks the boundary with State Trust land further down the road, where an annual permit system applies. Campers find the area generally clean, with minimal litter reported in reviews.
This location works well for boondockers seeking space to let dogs run freely and those interested in wildlife observation. The Las Cienegas National Conservation Area lies nearby for additional recreation opportunities. No water or restroom facilities exist on-site.

The camping area is located within the Las Cienegas NCA three miles east of Sonoita. It is situated 2.5 miles off State Road 82 and six miles from State Road 83. To access the NCA, travel along State Road 83, turn east near mile marker 40 to BLM road marker LC 900 into the NCA entrance. Drive six miles, then continue south on LC 900.
