Within Apache National Forest, Upper Blue Campground provides free camping from April through November on just three sites spread across the area. The campground requires 4x4 access according to campers who have navigated the approach roads. Sites sit within a minute's walk of the Blue River, where visitors can explore the water and surrounding terrain for hiking and climbing opportunities.
The Forest Service allows both pets and alcohol at this drive-in campground. For additional options in the region, campers can explore campgrounds just outside Apache National Forest or check out Blue Crossing Campground located further downstream.
