GuideThis campground sits right on a lake. Drop a kayak...very nice, clean, excellent sites. However, the noise from Seward highway echoes off the mountains so it's a bit noisy for a tent camper but very nice otherwise.
GuideThis 81 site RV Park has full hook ups including cable for RVs. Showers and laundry facilities on site. WiFi available. Campfires allowed at creekside sites. The park provides shuttle service to and from Seward and the tour boats will send shuttles for pick-up/drop off for cruises. Close proximity to Kenai Fjords NP including exit glacier.
These sites are close together and unfortunately the bathroom/shower facilities need improvement. Bathroom stalls have saloon type doors that are too small to provide privacy. Showers only have curtains and no separate area for changing.
RangerShort drive from Seward (which has grocery, general store, etc) and you're at this glacier with hiking and a small primitive campground. Walking around the park really hits you how bad climate change is. Our camp site was shady and forested. I bet this fills up quick in the summer. Just a great place to get outdoors without going too far from civilization. Would return.
LegendBoondocking galore!!! It gets five stars for what it is. Beautiful spots right by the river and five minutes from Seward and shopping one way and five minutes from Kenai Fjords NP the other.
The entrance comes up quick and has huge rocks blocking part of the road. We blew by it the first time and said no way, but then we pulled over and I ran to see who was camping and surprisingly a bunch of bigger campers etc got back there so we gave it a go and we got thru better than we thought. You just need to take your time!
Big gravel like space but isn't level so you need to drive slow, but you can find a level spot to camp for the night. No amenities as you are boondocking, but well worth it for the night!!! Highly recommend!!!
GuideCooper Creek is a great, smaller campground to choose when the popular nearby spots fill up with anglers. For some reason, this spot is not as in demand as the Russian River campground, despite having many of the same amenities.
This campground is great for group camping trips, as each site is rated for 8 people and a few can have up to 12. There are many ada-acessible sites to choose from as well, which was a great help when bringing along family in need.
The gravel roads can sometimes mean backing-in is a bit more strenuous than other paved campgrounds, but if you're camping in Alaska, you probably already know how to reverse park a camper! Picnic tables were always well maintained, and the deep firepits came in handy for our large fires. They even have grills built in!
Toilets are well maintained, but we always had to supply our own method of handwashing - hand santizer, in our case to leave as little trace as possible.
Don't forget to bring your fishing poles (get that permit first!) and keep an eye out for bear activity.

RangerWe were in a rented rv making a last minute stay over in Seward. They had last minute room to boondock in an adjacent parking lot, which was also full in August. We stayed 2 nights, the second in an rv site in Resurrection. We saw some tents, but rv sites are located along the water. Even though sites are close together everyone minded their manners while we were here. There is a blacktop path that leads to the must-see Alaska Sea Life Center. The campground is also close to boat excirsions and restaurants at the dock. Pay shower, clean bathrooms, and a dump station. It was a peaceful stay with an awesome view of the ocean.

ScoutStayed 4 nights 6/4/23. Very close to Seward activities and Exit Glacier - Harding ice field hikes. Area can handle most size rigs. We have small pull behind trailer but had an Airstream and variety of other campers in the area. Entrance is next to a couple of large boulders but is wide enough to get through. Scenery was outstanding with snow covered peaks in all directions. We did see bear tracks and evidence of moose but didn’t see any when we were there. We highly recommend this camping location.
