Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge & RV Park

Accessible via Bean Creek Road off Alaska Highway 1, Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge & RV Park accommodates RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. The campground operates seasonally from May 20 through September 15, requiring reservations during peak summer months. Sites split across two sides of a wide road with a large turnaround area, making backing into spaces manageable even for larger rigs.

The RV park connects to the adjacent Princess Lodge through walking paths, giving campers access to two restaurants and a deck overlooking the Kenai River. On-site amenities include clean shower facilities at $2 for 10 minutes, laundry rooms, and a full-service market where staff lend bear spray to hikers and maintain a book exchange. Water pressure runs around 40 PSI, and sites provide 30-amp electrical service.

Cell coverage varies by carrier, with Verizon providing two bars while T-Mobile shows no service. Trees around the perimeter offer some separation, though "all sites are a bit close together," according to Shadara W.. The Kenai River location attracts anglers, and shuttle service runs between the RV park and lodge as needed.

For a different experience, Float-n-Fish Campground sits just downstream along the same river corridor.

Many campers appreciated the spacious sites, excellent facilities, and outstanding staff hospitality at this scenic Kenai River location. Premium Princess pricing was noted, though most found the amenities and service quality justified the cost.

Met Our Needs

We followed our RV GPS and turned off AK-1 at Bean Creek Rd, which brought us to the Kenai Princess RV Park. A steep left turn led to the office, where we had a super friendly check-in. There was an RV in our site when we arrived, but the office quickly moved them to the overflow. The sites were split on two sides of a wide road with a large turnaround area, so backing into Site 35 with FHUs (30 AMP) was easy. The site was long enough for our 40’ toy hauler, including dropping the patio, and we could still park our F450 crosswise. Sewer connections were at the back center of the pad, with water and electric at the center—no issues. Water pressure was about 40 PSI. Because of perimeter trees and fishermen’s vehicles, we set Starlink on the roof for a clear sky shot. Verizon gave us 2 bars, while T-Mobile had no service. There were paths around the campground to the lodge and down to the lake, which we enjoyed walking with our pups. There weren’t many grocery options in Cooper Landing. The nearest major amenities were about an hour away in Soldotna. Overall, this was a decent campground that met our needs.

Closed right now for COVID

Currently closed but anything Princess cost $$ but is beautiful. If you are willing to pay the price the Princess facilities are some of the most beautiful I have seen. Located in beautiful Cooper Landing and a short drive down the scenic Seward highway.

If you are on a once in a lifetime vacation and renting an RV this is worth a stop.

Fishing Oh My

Along the Kenai River a great place for RVer's that are needing a fishing fix. The main lodge is just a short walk away too. Grocery store, shower, laundry ADA accessible, Ice and Propane make this a wonderful stop. All sites are a bit close together but there are trees on the outside.

Beautiful Location in Cooper Landing - Salmon Lovers Paradis

This RV Park offers full hook ups with laundry, shower, and full service market on site. The showers were very clean with excellent water pressure ($2.00 for 10 min). Laundry facilities was large and clean. Market staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about area. They were kind enough to lend us bear spray for our Russian River hike. Lending library also available in market place to exchange for a new book.

The Princess Lodge itself is large with 2 restaurants and a large deck that looks out onto the Kenai. They offer shuttle service to and from the lodge and RV Park as needed. The lodge also has a beautiful trail with decks looking into the Kenai the shuttle can take you to and from as needed.

The market staff were really amazing and we enjoyed our stay here very much. We tried one of the restaurants in the Lodge and unfortunately weren’t too impressed. We will definitely stay at this RV site again in the future. Can’t beat the location and hospitality!
