COE Walter F George Lake White Oak Creek Campground

    Beautiful campground with great sites

Stayed December 2019 for a long weekend. The sites are all very nice with fire ring, lantern pole, picnic table, small counter height table, and concrete pad for your camper or tents. Ample additional parking available. Bathrooms were well maintained. We stayed in the Oakwood loop. River Chase loop has the best playground. Staff were very friendly. Several dump stations as well as a dog park. Would like some more hiking trails.

    Lakepoint Resort State Park Campground

    Great stay in winter

We stayed at this campground in a pull through site in February on our cross-country adventure. Plenty of room for big rigs. Easy to navigate roads. Safe for kids to ride around on bikes for hours. Site are big and the one we were at backed up on woods. Great view of the lake and sunset.  Lots of beautiful space to explore in the park, even in the chilly weather. Will definitely have to come back in the Spring!

    Deer Run RV Park

    Nice quiet RV park

Perfect place to stay for short or long term. Close to town but just far enough away to have peace and quiet. Had fishing ponds, waking trial, bath/laundry house and pool. We stayed a month with plenty of space.

    Hardridge Creek Campground

Another great Army Corps of Engineers Campground

We recently spent five nights at another Army Corps of Engineers campground, Hardridge Creek Campground located near Abbeville, Alabama. This is one of four COE campgrounds on the Walter F. George reservoir locally know as Lake Eufaula. We reserved our site online using the Recreation. gov application.

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon, check in times are after 4:00 PM. The reservation and check in process was painless, our paperwork was ready upon our arrival and COVID precautions were implemented and rigorously executed throughout. We reserved site 52 which is a beach front site which is large and included a private stairway down to the lakeside beach area. The site included 50/30/15 amp electrical, water, fire pit, picnic table, fire ring, BBQ and portable table. The site was completely level on a concrete pad. Very nice and well kept. There are several sites that include sewer connections on sites 55-77. This campground does close and lock the gate between 10PM and 7AM, there is no gate code and only emergency access is available through the park host. This is stressed during the check-in and in the provided information.

We really enjoyed this location but there are ants at this park as is others in this region. If you do not take preemptive measures beforehand you will be affected. Everything that touches the ground is a conduit for their access, the tires, leveling jacks, tongue jack, power cord and the water hose are their tools for finding a way. Even something as simple as a tree branch touching the awning will prove a route.

The beach was very nice and included a swimming area with boundaries to prevent boats and jet skis from entering. The bathroom was clean and typical for its age. The closest town is Fort Gaines, Georgia, 3.5 miles away, there is a gas station and a Dollar General for there for basic supplies.

We used Verizon cell service and had good coverage for cell service and excellent data or LTE coverage. We were also able to receive about six channels of over the air TV on the antenna.

In summary; great park, well kept and managed. The sites are better than most and can provide accommodations for all types of rigs. The only negative was the ants but having read other reviews beforehand, we came prepared. Check it out if you are in the area. I’ve included a park map with information in the attached pictures.

    Deer Run RV Park

    Good Stop Over

Our GPS led us directly to the campground (CG) on US-231, conveniently located on the west side of Troy, AL. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. We stayed at site 60, which featured full hookups (FHUs) and a level cement pad with well-positioned utilities. Water pressure was high, so we used a reducer. The CG offers WiFi, but we couldn’t locate the guest network during our overnight stay. This wasn’t an issue, as we relied on our Starlink and T-Mobile home internet, which performed well despite just one bar on our phone. Verizon reception was also solid at three bars. The CG provides cable, which we didn’t use, but our camping friends in site 59 confirmed it worked well. The older section of the CG is shaded with mature trees, while the newer area has fewer, making it ideal for satellite users. Compared to our last visit a few years ago, the only noticeable upgrade was the addition of tiny houses near the office. The CG remains clean and well-maintained. One downside was the heavy traffic at our site from long-term residents returning from work, many of whom didn’t observe the speed limit. Deer Run also offers water and electric sites in the newer back section, which we plan to request for future short stays.

Military Park Fort Rucker Recreation Area Engineer Beach RV Park

    Pull through privacy

This military RV campground was very nice. The pull through site that we were assigned provided privacy as it was situated off to itself. However because of the vast amount of trees we were unable to use the satellite and WiFi was not available, but the Rec room had plenty of books.

    City Limits RV Resort

Nice new RV Park in quaint Cuthbert, GA

This nice, new RV Park is located in quaint Cuthbert, GA and offers nearby access to good hunting & fishing and hiking/trail running at Providence Canyon. This RV Park has full hookups and laundry as well as a cute covered commons area that has ceiling fans, an ice machine, grill, beverage fridge, picnic tables and fire pit. There is a store right across the street that has cheap fuel, propane and groceries along with fishing & hunting supplies. This park is brand new and has lots of small oak & magnolia trees planted that will be absolutely beautiful once grown up a bit.

The owner is a young hardworking guy who is nice & straight shooting but also not all up in anyone’s business. The RV Park has perfect winter weather for snowbirds, is peaceful and has a clear night sky to view the stars. This park also honors Passport America
