Lake Easton State Park Campground

Had a reservation. Pulled up around 3:30 to the park entrance booth with instructions to check in over the phone. After a short while on hold, was able to complete our check-in. Facilities were clean and fine, but only 1 shower stall in the women's and 1 in the men's for the whole campground. Reviews aren't kidding about the I-90 road noise. This spot was okay for a quick overnight while traveling through the area... but I wouldn't personally make a destination of this place.

Nice state campground, well kept, beautiful lake if you can get one of the lakeside spots. We had site#11, and the road noise was just too too loud for me. Definitely try to get a spot away from the road. We arrived after the ranger shack at the entrance had closed for the day, but they have a really easy phone registration process if you arrive after hours but before 10pm. After 10 pm they say to just pick an unreserved spot and pay in the morning. 

Showers are free. Cell reception was good.

My first time being there , very pretty area

My wife and I stayed in a full hook-up spot (#12) with our travel trailer. The site was clean, close to the lake, and had an additional spot to put a tent if needed. It’s pretty close to the freeway (there was a lot of car noise), but I would definitely return again! Cellphone signal (with Verizon) worked well, but there was no tv antenna reception if that’s something you need!

Came last minute during father's day weekend looking for a tent site. The booth host was very helpful letting us know that there was only two spots left and answering many more questions. We were able to find a perfect site for my family of 4. Clean raised tent bed with pea-gravel raked evenly good for 6-7 person tent . Fire pit is decently sized approximately 3x2 with a flip top grill that covers half of it. Paved road gravel parking space big enough for a trailer/camper . Dumpster and water spicket as well as a bathroom with pay to use shower's . ¢50-1 token = 3 minute shower. Small playground with a basketball court by the bathrooms. Lovely river walk trail follows the Yakima River . Activities for children such as the Jr. Ranger program. Gas station is close just cross the highway sells firewood as well . Overall great first time at the campground friendly staff will be coming back.

Currently camping here while writing this review. We had reserved site 110 (non-electric) for an overnight stay. The site was overrun by black ants so we switched to site 109. The Ranger on duty was super nice and totally understanding of us switching sites.

The biggest negative is the road noise from I90. It’s loud enough that my wife and I have to talk really loud to hear each other. There are also trains actively running behind the campground.

Visited in early spring during a snowstorm. Main camping areas were still closed, so we parked near the picnic/swimming area. Nice open lot to park in. Benches, bbqs, and play area. Restrooms were open, clean and heated. Showers took tokens. Unsure of where to get tokens.

We stayed in the tent camping area. RV section looks very nice too. Had a great time, but next visit will select a site in the lower loop, further away from the interstate noise. Lots of trails for walking/biking and a swim area. Access to the upper stretch of the Yakima River. Clean restrooms and varied site size.

This campground was very nice. Our space had full hookups and lots of shade. The staff was very friendly as well. I’m giving them 4 stars because the pool pumps were not working very well and the water was cloudy. Other than that beautiful.

We stayed here only because it was the only campground that we could make reservations for that had 3 sites close to each other. Plus we wanted to check it out, never having been here before. The park itself was nice. It was super busy, lots of people. Lots of unsupervised children darting in front of cars on the campground drive which was very scary to see. The worst part however, was the never-ending freeway buzz. All day/all night, you could hear the freeway noise. We had to leave to go find some peacefulness elsewhere.

This is a standard state park with separate loops for tents and RVs. There is actually quite a distance between the two types of camping with a nice day use area in between. The campsites are nice with good distance between them and good privacy. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. There are hiking trails, kayaking, mountain biking, and even basketball courts and play areas. 

An additional benefit is that it’s close to the Palouse to Cascades gravel trail. 

We enjoy this park as an early season trip because it’s so close to the Seattle/Tacoma area. We enjoy trips to Roslyn to eat out and occasionally mountain biking.

Nice location but super crowded..

We were under the impression that we had spot near the water which was not the case. We adapted just fine to driving over to the day use area to access water. The swimming hole was on the small side but we got there around the time most families were packing up for dinner so it was relatively peaceful. We wish we had kayaks to explore the lake more! The lake is absolutely beautiful! We were also a little disappointed that the trails that would have lead down to the creek behind our site were al blocked off by fencing. The grounds themselves are ideal for families! Lots of space and activities. The sites themselves do not provide much privacy. If we were traveling with a group or a family with children this would have been fine but since there was just 3 women on this trip we had hoped for a little less exposure to other campers. I will say that the park is very well maintained and I frequently saw staff actively cleaning almost constantly which was impressive.

We enjoyed taking the trail from the campsite to overlook the lake. This lake is beautiful to kayak at and is a nice spot to relax. We usually like to pick campground based on a specific hike in a region, but enjoyed just walking the easy trails in the park and taking out the kayak. We didn’t make a reservation but got the last spot available for July 3rd. It was busy, but the campground was clean and spots were fairly spacious. We got the last spot so probably not the best in the park :)

This WA state park is one of the most beautiful and well maintained I’ve ever seen. It features nicely paved roads and site pads, ample level tent pads, lots of full hookups and great views of lake Easton nestled amongst tall firs. There is a great swimming area and boat launch as well as playground in the day-use area. The big downside is that it is pretty close to I-90 and road noise is the constant soundtrack. It’s not unusual to see a black bear in this area but they don’t seem to be too big of a problem. This park may not be a destination park, but it’s proximity to Seattle Metro makes it a good stop over.

The campground is very clean and well maintained. I felt like I was in the city. The campsites are small and cramped together, typical state park I guess. There’s playground by the lake and boat launch, but you have to either ride a bike or drive there, there’s no actual trail connect from camp loop to the play area. The ranger was very strict and came around often to Check on dogs, tent on tent pad. The site we got was not near freeway but it was still noisy. Keep in mind, we like camping where we can stretch out and not have to worry about the neighbors.

We've stayed here twice with other families. Once at the group site and once at other sites next to each other. If you are going with a large group you are much better off booking sites together as far away from the freeway as possible. The group site is incredibly loud because it is so close to I-90. I drempt all night that a semi-truck was running me over. Not exactly a relaxing experience. I have not experienced the hook up sites, only the standard campground. Maybe it's less noisy there? The lake is beautiful, but we had to drive from our site to get to the beach. The facilities are well maintained. If you want a shower be sure to visit the token machine at the ranger station first. There are other more quiet campgrounds you could choose if you want to get away from the noise of a busy life. I'm not sure I would pick this one again, but the lake makes a great day trip.

Bit noisy with I-90 traffic. Out spot was nice and closed off, but many others were very open. Loved exploring around the lake and saw many small beaches along the nature trails!

There were many people staying here but it was surprisingly quiet at night which was nice. The photos on the state park site show the site we were going to stay at was surrounded by trees but when we got there about 1/3 of the the trees around the sites were cut down. That was a little disappointing. But my husband enjoyed it because he’s more a city guy and liked seeing people around us :). It’s also a bit close to the hwy so you’ll here cars going by. Other than that it was easy to get fire wood, nice fire pits with grates and close to the river. Easy for a one night car camping stay.

This was a lovely campsite. It was smaller, yet felt large enough so you had your own privacy and space. There were clean facilities available, as well as drinking water and trash bins. Our lot was spacious with a nice picnic table, fire pit, and area for our two person tent. Everyone around us was respectful of one another and wasn't too loud late at night. There are trails behind the campsite that lead down to the river, or just a short drive away is the 'beach' and bridge overlooking the lake. It is peaceful and although the highway is close by, seeing the beauty of the area makes you think and feel you are deeper in nature. I would definitely stay here again for a longer period of time!

The park staff was extremely accommodating, especially since we had no reservation and took a chance that at after 9pm we would find a spot. They said we got lucky and were very pleasant. Only downfall, the road noise, but can't complain too much since we did show up last minute.

This park was awesome! We went for the 4th of July. The park offers hiking trails, lots of day use picinic areas, and of course the lake!

We've been here a few times only because it has such a nice beach for little kids to swim and play in the sand. They also have a nice playground for kids there too. Worth the trip for day use if you don't want to camp. The camground itself is just okay, as we like more privacy than is afforded in the hookup/west side campground. The north side/tent camground is a good walk to the beach and makes it not so convenient with little kids, but the sites are nice there and more private. Also, nothing like hearing I5 when you are out sleeping in nature 😜. The bathrooms are very clean.

Noisy, noisy, noisy, and noisy. From the sound of the highway to the insurmountable number of inconsiderate neighbors... forget getting any sleep. If you have a large family style tent it won't fit on the wood plank outlined tent pad. The grounds are fairly well maintained and the park and lakeshore are nice. It's great for family camping with the kids, but bring ear plugs!
