This park was recommended by a fishing guide I’m going fishing with. I had low expectations. This is a beautiful park. It’s not huge and there are not a ton of full hookup sites, but it’s a very sweet spot on the Columbia River. The staff and camp host are exceptional.

We just spent two nights cold weather camping here. It’s a beautiful quiet park with very spacious lots. There is not a lot to do besides hiking, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in the woods, this might be the ticket.

So much potential being right on the Willamette River, but unfortunately there is basically no view of the water. We had a rough visit that I’m sure was an anomaly. We had a change of itinerary that brought us to Woodburn and had to arrive with no reservations. There were sites available (after Labor Day) so no problem. Were were told to “pick any unreserved site” so we did so. Got unhooked, leveled, and fully set up, then went to register for the night when the ranger told me that the site was reserved. IT WAS NOT TAGGED. So, we had to pack up and move. Total bummer. Beside that, the park is unwatered and was just dry and unattractive. Upside was spacious sites in B loop, but we just had the view of a dried out field. Paved sites, level, with plenty of electric/water sites. I wouldn’t stay here again unless it was in the spring.

Okay, this isn’t really camping, it’s more like parking in a parking lot so don’t have an expectation that it’s a camping atmosphere. That being said, this is a very nice place to get off I-5 and park an RV with all the amenities. You can walk to several restaurants and the outlet mall. There is a great laundry room, clean bathrooms and showers, pool, pet areas, and nicely paved, level, but crowded sites.

First off, if you have an RV and can avoid taking the Hood River Bridge, that is highly advisable. With two 9’ lanes, it’s a nightmare to get across. Having said that, the park is a nicely maintained small park with really nice facilities. It really has no view of the nearby river and is very close to an active railroad track. Yeah. I should have done my homework. The wife was not happy. But let me stress… the facilities are nice, clean, and it’s a good stop over. If you are in town, head down the road to Dickys Fruit Stand/Store and get herself a pie. Oh my my!

OK, I need to be clear this is not really “camping” camping but more like glamping. This RV park is the best maintained park I have ever seen. The lots are not real big, but the landscaping is pristine ( think golf course) and overall the park is meticulously maintained. There is a really nice pool and hot tub, laundry room, showers, and a very nicely stocked store that includes hot food available. (Though we did not take advantage of that). Most of the sites here are taken up by permanent/long-term residents but there is no sense that they are junkie or like some parks like this end up looking, and there are plenty of short term/camper spots. We stayed here two nights visiting relatives who live here permanently.

This WA state park is one of the most beautiful and well maintained I’ve ever seen. It features nicely paved roads and site pads, ample level tent pads, lots of full hookups and great views of lake Easton nestled amongst tall firs. There is a great swimming area and boat launch as well as playground in the day-use area. The big downside is that it is pretty close to I-90 and road noise is the constant soundtrack. It’s not unusual to see a black bear in this area but they don’t seem to be too big of a problem. This park may not be a destination park, but it’s proximity to Seattle Metro makes it a good stop over.

For scenic views this campground is pretty hard to beat. Lake Crescent is stunning. The water is very clean and great for swimming in August. The campground is not laid out well and the sites are small and close together. Prepare to be friendly with your neighbors. It’s alway a drag to flush the septic system 6 feet from your neighbors door… “howdy neighbor!” The staff was great, but the campground basically unpoliced, so you end up with noise and dogs running loose. There are a variety of cabins available, a restaurant, and nice gift area.

Nice clean well maintained park with lots of access to the water. Kinda pricey for full hookup. We booked late in the year so we had to move twice within a 5 day stay. An issue came up that was a real bummer… we needed to move into a site that had a rental trailer on it, and it took a long time for that to get picked up. If you manage to get a site with beach access, do not imagine it will be yours. We had a couple of great beach access sites, but both times, younger campers pretty much took over the beach making it uncomfortable to even use.

Blu Shastin was a pretty nice find just a few minutes from popular Leavenworth and Cashmere WA. We got a decent full hookup site (67) that was backed up to the Peshastin river. Many sites have access and viewing of this small river and we really enjoyed the peaceful sounds. The park was clean and well maintained, and Dave the owner/manager was really friendly. They have nice sized pool, horseshoes, and a clubhouse with pool tables and a couple of video games. There is no store to speak of but they do sell ice and firewood until 7 PM. A couple of drawbacks… No Wi-Fi was available, although they say they have it. It is in a cell dead zone. We actually enjoyed being disconnected from the Internet etc. There are some “permanent residence“ sites that were pretty rundown/unsightly… If the pictures of those were posted on their website we would not have come. We did enjoy our stay and the staff was super friendly!

This is a nice little park. With Deception pass and all the sites on Whidbey island, plus it’s not too far from town, it’s a decent getaway. There is a fair amount of highway noise, especially on the front sites. Seems like 40-50% are more permanent sites. There is occasional noise from Naval Station Whidbey, but this camper doesn’t mind the occasional sighting of a fighter jet.
