Dash Point State Park Campground

Usually, I have a complaint, but there are no complaints.

Loved this place, clean showers

We took our 5 & 6 year olds on their first camping trip. We spent 4 days, 3 nights and all had a great time. We were in a tent site. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that some of the sites are quite small or very close to the neighboring spots. Our site was wonderful. We loved that it’s so close to the beach and trails for hiking. Best of both worlds.

Stayed on site 38. Perfect for Van camping. Electric,water and sewer. Some sewer locations may need an extension hose. Power ran about 118 to 120 voltage. Cell service where we were at ...ATT had 3 bars and Verizon at 1 or 2 bars at best. Very dated park. But paved narrow roads and tight sites. Reserved on phone, same day of arrival. At 3:18 pm and checkin was closed. So we just went to site. Our loop restroom was very dated and needed some repairs. X1 shower in men's and women's. Men's side had tile missing but had hot water. Overall....just a very dated park. Airport noise noticeable. But spaces are somewhat spaced out with some privacy.

Rangers are ridiculous

It’s ok. Again. A little catfished. Was here for two nights. Quiet at night Campground full of kids if that’s your thing! Bathrooms clean and everyone is friendly! It’s beautiful

Facilities were good and trails around are fun and easy enough for me and 2 kids. The beach and its tides are why we came.

Very loud children on a Thursday night, but the campsites are cute and well maintained, all have a firepit, bathrooms close to everything. Bathrooms are smelly but clean. It is roughly $40 for a night tho. Recommend the lower #ed side of the campground.

I love how easy it is to get to this campground from tacoma. The beach is great and the amenities are great! But it’s quite busy and loud.

This campground is remarkable in the privacy between each of the camping spots, the bird life, the wild and deep forest vibes, and the walking trails. The washroom and shower is kept clean, as is the rest of the campground.

Nice but busy campground. Spaces are fairly big. Not a lot of privacy but the spots are big enough so it was okay. Restrooms are as clean as they can be with people trekking in mud.

Went over night on 12/9. There were only a few other campers, which is always nice. Can’t imagine camping here in peak season. Rangers circled frequently. Walk to the beach has housing complexes in view.

I live 5 miles from this park and am here all the time, just not for camping. I came for one night to do a shakeout in my new to me trailer. My husband came to be my second set of eyes as I set up camp and to entertain our kiddo while I made dinner. Then we drove him home since he had to work in the morning. Several reviews complain about the airplane noise overhead, but I live in Federal Way and cargo planes from JBLM often fly over my house so some commercial airlines don't bother me one bit. I was in a pull-through full hook-up site. I did not hook up the sewer hose however because the lid was broken and I would have had to find a large rock to hold my elbow in place. All in all, it's a nice campground and was quiet. I didn't even hear the cars on road.

It’s weird place one part looks like people without a home live there the other part have half million dollars rvs rolling in! Beautiful area! Main Street near by that is apparently a racing street

I stay here from time to time with an RV. I appreciate there is electric, sewer and water. I use this an overnight point to fill my RV before going off grid. It is also a nice spot to stop close to Seattle for an easy overnight without a lot of hastle.

Love coming here to hike with the dogs and kids.

Several miles of hiking trails and chances to see wildlife or catch frogs. Across the street, about a 10 minute walk from the campground is the beach. The beach itself is fairly large with plenty of space to stretch out and let your animals go wild without worrying about being to close to other people. Beach is clean and water is too!

The campgrounds seem very well maintained and also you dont feel like your close to the city. It manages make you feel like your deep in the forest, very cozy feel at each campsite and a large campground in general with lots of trails and areas of the campground to explore. Great place for families who want to come see the ocean, be close to civilization and feel like your lost in the woods at the same time

Good size sites great access to the sound and still close to town. The only reason I have this site 4 instead of 5 Stars is that's its so close to the city. Great WiFi connection and cell signal. Great hiking trails and nice trail to the water no need to drive to it.

Ok for a state park facility. Sites were a bit overgrown, bathhouses were beat up an apparently not cleaned daily. Token machines were broken so showers were free. Didn’t use the beach, too far to walk from campsite. In our site there was no Verizon cell signal. No live ranger at checkin and I thought self registration instructions were confusing. That being said , convenient to Tacoma and only 45 minutes from downtown Seattle

I would like tell you a few reasons why Dash Point made it a fantastic weekend for us. The camping site had all hookups for our 22 ft. Trailer. The park is close to Federal Way and Tacoma, but you wouldn't even know those cities were only minutes away. We hiked to the Inlet and beach.
My critique is if you have a larger vehicle then 22 ft. you may want a pull through space since the roads are a little narrow to back into. No Verizon access, unsure about other services.
We enjoyed our site and the camp ground.

Beautiful, safe, lots of animals, paid showers, firewood for $8 exact cash, loop A is quieter as there’s no hookups, a short walk to the beach, trails into the forest, picnic tables and fire pits, quiet on the weekdays.

The sites are private and they are in the coastal forest across the street from the beach. The sites and bathrooms are clean and they have coin operated showers. There are also cool hiking trails along the beach. Friendly staff and civilization is close by if you need anything.

We’ve been here a few times. Would give 5 stars but this time they lost power in the park and took forever to fix. Good thing we had a generator.

Beautiful campground. Very quiet. There was about 1.5 inches the first day of our stay, so the site was very muddy. Some other sites seemed to have more grass, so less mud. Site 19 had a lot of poison oak/ivy so you must be careful of that. Probably wouldn’t choose site 19 again. But the campground was very pretty and would recommend that campground again.

Great state park to go camping. Plenty of trails for hiking. Near the Puget Sound and very friendly staff.

We had site 34 and it was ridiculously close to other sites. Maybe 10 feet between fire pits. Never saw camp host of State Park personnel other than folks cleaning bathrooms. Some sites looked much nicer than ours. Half the campground is closed down so there was no weekend availability. Trails were great but signage was poor.

Dash Point State Park is pretty, no doubt about it. However, if you're planning on staying here, even though it is close to the city, you're off the grid. No cell service available and no wifi either. The spots are very tight and on a grade, please bring levelers and make sure your rig isn't too big. For example, we are traveling in a 34ft at a pull-through site and we barely fit into the space. The grade is so significant we had to go find more leveling blocks to lift the trailer 5-6". The experience we had was barely a breeze, lots of coming back and forth from the store while finding ways to fit the RV; maneuvering the RV in such a way that it fits without hitting branches or trees.

If none of this matters to your situation you will enjoy your stay. We had to leave early because it was just not suiting our needs and was very uncomfortable.

A bit of a tight squeeze to drive the trailer but the location was nice. Our spot was very uneven but livable. Showers are 25¢ a minute so be prepared. 15 minute walk to a great view of Puget Sound. We would visit again.
