With reservations available from April through October, Lake Cumberland State Resort Park operates three separate camping areas spread across hilly terrain near Jamestown. The campground charges $20-$35 per night and provides full hookups for RVs, though reviewers note that older sites from the 1970s can present challenging angles for leveling larger rigs.
Most camping loops wind through wooded areas with electric, water, and sewer connections, though campers report that hookup placement sometimes requires extra extension cords. The newer ADA-accessible sites offer easier setup, while the vintage loops maintain what one reviewer calls "their charm" despite narrower spacing. Bath houses throughout the property stay clean and air-conditioned, serving double duty as storm shelters during severe weather.
The marina generates steady noise that carries to camping areas, and traffic moves frequently through the campground despite posted 15 mph speed limits. "Electric and water are laid out poorly and we had to purchase an extra cord," notes Travis S.. Wildlife activity includes mice and vultures, so securing food and trash becomes essential.
On-site amenities include disc golf, miniature golf, tennis courts, and horse stables, plus boat and kayak rentals at the marina. The lodge restaurant serves weekend buffets, and a country store stocks basic camping supplies. For those exploring the region, campgrounds near Jamestown provide additional options within the Lake Cumberland area.
