Central Kentucky's Lebanon area provides access to several mixed-use campgrounds along the Green River Lake watershed. White Acres Campground offers year-round camping with tent, RV, and cabin options, while Green River Lake State Park Campground operates from April through December with similar accommodations plus glamping opportunities. Most established campgrounds in the region feature electric hookups, water access, and picnic tables, with several offering full RV hookups including sewer connections. The area's camping landscape includes both state park facilities and privately operated campgrounds, with many situated near water features that support fishing and boating activities.

Seasonal considerations affect campground operations throughout the region, with several facilities closing during winter months. Green River Lake State Park operates from April 1 to December 31, while My Old Kentucky Home State Park Campground has a shorter season from April 1 to October 31. Many campgrounds require reservations, particularly during summer weekends and holiday periods. The terrain around Lebanon features rolling hills with varying site conditions. Campers should be prepared for potentially uneven camping pads at some locations. As one visitor noted about My Old Kentucky Home State Park, "Not a level site to be found in this small park. As in most Kentucky parks the electric & water poles are 1 to 2 extension cords away. BRING PLENTY of BLOCKS!"

Developed campgrounds in the area receive generally positive reviews for their proximity to outdoor recreation opportunities, particularly water activities. Green River Lake serves as a focal point for many camping areas, with boat-in access available at several campgrounds including CampFire Ridge RV Park and Pikes Ridge. Bathroom facilities and amenities vary significantly between locations, with some receiving praise and others criticism. A camper at Taylorsville Lake State Park mentioned, "The spots were spacious, and very nice picnic tables. We did a trail which was nice and went down to a boat ramp to see the lake." Many campgrounds in the region also serve as convenient bases for exploring Kentucky's bourbon distilleries, with Bardstown's My Old Kentucky Home State Park frequently mentioned as a good location for combining camping with distillery tours.

      Pulaski County Park

Nice Spot, Good Park Managers, Horrible Campers

Overall I had a great one day get away at this sight. Two issues, Both of the primitive spots are by the road, and the other park goers are some of the least respectful, loud and and plan mean people I have ever been around. In contrast, the park managers are very nice and helpful.

But for example, a car wrecked really close to my campsite at 1 am, people blasted music well past midnight, a car alarm went off around 2 am and then, the family of said car alarm, starting loudly arguing for 30 straight minutes at a volume that everyone could hear. This all happened in one night.

I bet if you go on weekdays it wouldn’t be that bad, however if you want to sleep, I don’t recommend going on weekends. Which sucks because besides being a nice spot with good staff, other people kind of ruin the vibe.

      Nice basic field

Fishing lake. Quite a few locals throughout the day. Big field, camp anywhere. Porta potty, trash can, no other services. No fires. Nice lake, sunset, sunrise, wildlife. Felt very safe. Warden, police drove through each day. We'll maintained. Clean.

      Cave Country RV Campground

2 night stay on our cross country road trip

Doing a road trip from CO to the east coast while hitting some national parks. This RV park is convenient off the highway and close to Mammoth cave national park. Quiet with lots of birds chirping all day. There is a train that runs through it it would bother you. Staff is friendly. So are the other campers. The pool is nice. Showers are clean. We don’t have a regular RV and they were super accommodating (see pics).

      A NICE PLACE!

I really enjoyed my stay here! It's quiet but not too quiet if ya know what I mean. The bathrooms and laundry room are always clean, if something breaks they make it right and it's close to almost everything! Very understanding people with the exception of 1 (which I felt like he didn't like me from the jump) but it's ok. Gina (my fav) and Darlene made up for it. Tim was nice, just quiet! Great bunch of people! So go check it out and tell them Tina said hi 😉

      Elkhorn Campground

      Very Nice Spot

I stayed here from May 11-16, 2026. I was backed up to the creek (I will say, the first few sites that back up, you can’t actually see the creek from your spot because of bushes). The first 4 nights I could see the creek and it was lovely. Each spot has a fire pit and picnic table which was very nice. They direct you to your spot and help you back in and the bathrooms are cleaned daily. I thought it was extremely affordable and I would definitely stay there again.

      Sexual abuse overlooked

The managers, James and Kate, are extremely unprofessional. They kicked out my family because they preferred another family better. My son was sexually abused TWICE at this campground. When I mentioned contacting corporate, James got irrate and said they will only send you back to me so go ahead and try. James falsely accused my children of making messes in the bathrooms and I quote,"Smearing sh** on the walls." He also told me that no one wanted us at the park even though we have never been informed of breaking any rules. These people are sorry excuses of management and should be replaced with more competent employees

      Kind of ugly

Camp sites are very basic and somewhat run down. Very little tree coverage. Facilities, like pool, bathrooms and store are good.

The bathrooms are clean, I am not close to my neighboring campers, the parking spots are huge, and it's a great area to walk around."

Wooded camping areas: Several campgrounds offer shaded sites with mature trees. "Very small campground and narrow roads. Many sites were not level and some sites were very short so make sure you review the site description... You did feel like you were in the woods so that was a plus," notes a camper at My Old Kentucky Home State Park.

Water activities: The Green River Lake watershed creates opportunities for various water-based recreation. A camper at Pikes Ridge - Green River Lake shared, "The best campground on GRL!!! Only flaw.... no showers!"

Varying bathroom quality: Facilities differ between campgrounds. A Smith Ridge visitor noted, "This campground is clean and the campsites are decent... Check site dimensions: Site sizes vary across campgrounds. One RVer at My Old Kentucky Home cautioned, "Very small campground and narrow roads.
