Starvation State Park's Juniper Point sits along the reservoir's edge as a dispersed camping area managed by the Utah State Department of State Parks, where sites range from $15 to $25 per night. Access is either by vehicle or boat, though the road in is rough enough that campers should plan accordingly. RVs have made it in successfully, and the campground is listed as big rig friendly, but leveling is a real challenge. Shade is scarce. Only two sites have meaningful tree cover, so campers sensitive to sun exposure should factor that in.
Water access is the main draw here. All sites are within walking distance of the reservoir, and reviewers consistently mention fishing and swimming as the primary activities. Three vault toilets and a dumpster are on site, and showers are available at the improved camping area nearby. Cell service is available. A couple of sites sit more apart from the rest, offering more separation from neighboring campers, though the area does see steady use, particularly after Memorial Day when sanitation can fall behind demand.
Trash left by previous visitors has been a recurring issue. Jakey and Alex L. note spending "a solid couple hours just cleaning up glass around our site for our dogs." Bugs, including flies and spiders, are also worth preparing for in summer months. Dogs are permitted and generally well managed by owners. Campers wanting developed amenities alongside reservoir access might consider Mountain View Campground — Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation about a mile to the southwest, or browse campgrounds near Duchesne for a broader set of options in the region.
