Tahoe’s own Big Blue Adventure is behind some of the best races in the southwest desert, and they’re gearing up for an intensely fun year!
Before you embrace the rugged beauty of Tahoe trails, it is a good idea to secure your camping spot early in order to guarantee that your only weekend competitors will be ones wearing numbered bibs.
Finding the right campground can be tough, especially in a popular destination like Lake Tahoe. That’s why we’ve been working so hard to help you find the best campgrounds for your racing adventures! We’ve compiled savable campground lists for the most popular Big Blue Adventure races in 2018, and they’re all yours.
So take advantage of real reviews from real campers like you, and have the best adventure possible!

What is Big Blue Adventure?
Now that you know how to find a place to cool your dogs after a long race day, do you know much about the great people behind your favorite races? Big Blue Adventure was officially launched in 2002 by Todd Jackson, a Berkeley alum and outdoor event aficionado. After the first Tahoe Big Blue race brought the BBA team new successes, they began organizing exciting races throughout the West.
Our events celebrate the best of the diverse natural terrain and geographic regions of California, Nevada and Oregon, whether it’s the rugged Pacific Coast, vast national forests, golden hills above San Francisco Bay, high desert in the eastern Sierra, or high peaks surrounding Lake Tahoe.
We are proud to partner with a team that strives to not only provide great outdoor events, but also encourages proper training, and always reminds us to Leave No Trace!
