Buffalo Creek Campground

Part of BLM Land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Buffalo Creek Campground sits in the southern Big Horn Mountains with just five sites arranged along Buffalo Creek. The small layout creates an intimate setting where each site includes a fire pit with grill and picnic table. A stream flows directly through the campground, providing natural water access though campers need their own filtration systems for drinking water.

The campground operates seasonally from spring through fall and prohibits pets. Grave Springs Campground lies just over a mile north with similar amenities but more sites. Fishing opportunities exist within 11 miles at a local spot known as "the tubes," and the area sees heavy use during hunting season while remaining quieter the rest of the year.

Wyoming diamond

Buffalo Creek Campground is a couple miles down the road from Graves Spring Campground. They both boast the same amenities (fire pits, picnic tables, trash, restroom, creek access, and wildlife). However, Buffalo Creek has half the sites- so, it is more intimate. There is great fishing within 11 miles at "the tubes." This area is very popular during hunting season and a sleeping beauty the rest of the year. Drinking water is available via the creek - bring your own filtration. This is a free, well maintained, sweet escape...utilize it and enjoy the breathtaking Wyoming landscape!!
