Willows Campground

Nightly rates at Willows Campground run $7 to $15, making it one of the more affordable options within Ashley National Forest. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is accessible by drive-in, though the native-surface road gives pause: reviewers note it has no gravel and would turn muddy in heavy rain. Plan accordingly if weather looks uncertain.

Sites sit along Sheep Creek, with cottonwood trees providing shade at several of them. Water access draws families with kids, and the creek also makes the campground a reasonable base for fishing and kayaking. Amenities are minimal. There is one vault toilet and one dumpster, but no potable water on-site, so campers need to bring their own supply.

Cell service is absent here. As Greg L. puts it, "No water and no cell signal so bring your Starlink." Generators are permitted, pets are welcome, and alcohol is allowed. The town of Manila is a short drive north if resupply is needed before or after arrival. Pet-friendly camping near Ashley National Forest is available at several other sites in the broader forest if this campground is full or the road conditions are a concern. Manns Campground is located less than half a mile away and provides an alternative worth checking.
