This first-come, first-served campground sits at the bottom of a narrow canyon along Deep Creek, accessible via a single-lane road that drops into the gorge. The US Forest Service operates the site from mid-May through mid-September, providing vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings but no potable water or trash service. Campers report complete absence of cell service throughout the canyon.
Several sites position directly along the creek bank, offering fishing access and the sound of running water. Recent improvements include a new bridge crossing and additional vault facilities. The narrow access road makes the campground unsuitable for travel trailers, though standard passenger vehicles navigate the route without difficulty. For RV-friendly alternatives, campgrounds near Ashley National Forest provide wider access roads and additional amenities.
Description
