Loud from Interstate 25

Very clean showers & restrooms. Traffic noise is bad from the traffic on I-25.

Creekside surprise

South Fork was perhaps the most pleasant surprise I’ve ever had as I pulled into a campground. Beautiful creek, clean, spatially distanced sites, tall Ponderosa pines at each site. USFS had invested great thought and resources into this campsite. Water and firewood available. Host has done this…

Clean living

The entrance is next to a restaurant, just off the interstate. The whole park is super clean. Check-in, the store, laundromat and bathrooms are all in the one building. The bathroom is a little dated and the showers small (see video) There is a little road noise, but it didn't bother…

Beyond stoked to have found this spot. Amazing dispersed camping. Was out in the first week of October and that’s all they allowed. Was able to have a nice fire and camp right next to a beautiful creek. The hikes and views around are unbelievable, totally worth the drive.

Great little mom and pop

Nice campground very close to I-90. It's clean and skoolie friendly. Would give a five except for closeness to I-90 and the showers are small for modern americans.

Awesome camp spot. Host was super nice and helpful when we arrived. Stunning mountain views and lots of areas to explore. Water and bathrooms were available, fire ring and picnic table at each site spot.

Great overnight stay

Great place to overnight in Buffalo. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean grounds, didn’t use any other facilities. Close to road so traffic might bother some—didn’t us.

Great spots

Lot of space which you may share with a wandering cow from rangeland. We loved it here. Beautiful country with room to wander after dinner with the dogs!

Nice Camp in ponderosa

Well-managed site in ponderosa stand with scenic drive .. very scenic quiet trail along Doyle creek starting from backside of campground that turns into a loop through meadows and ponderosa. No services only water and clean loo. Nice campground

Awesome campsite on top of a canyon

This is an awesome campsite! You camp on to of an enormous canyon that you can hike down to the river if you're up for a challenging hike! I followed my GPS and it took me on crazy roads into the middle of nowhere near private property signs, so don't follow the GPS, follow signs and stay on that…

So friendly

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! It was a great place for family. Nice heated pool. Pretty quiet but the highway is close. Very nice restaurant across the street. Super clean and nice bathrooms with electricity.

Lovely Campground in Lovely Location

This area of Wyoming wasn't exactly our destination- we were passing through on our way from SD to Yellowstone. Following a delicious pizza dinner in Buffalo, WY, only 30 or so miles from this campground, we pulled into South Fork. We got in late but had no trouble navigating the campground or the…

  • Drive to Campground at dusk.
  • Leaving the campsite through Big Horn NF.
  • Drooling at the beautiful drive through the area. Spotted a ton of other sites would love to come back and visit.

Beautiful Bighorn Mountains

Small but beautiful campground located in the Bighorn Mtns of Wyoming. Off hwy 16 a little ways this campground is big on scenery if not amenities. Although tree covered they are rocky and small. However the equestrian area at the back has some beautiful spots.

River sounds fill the air amidst forest beauty

Perfectly located, South Fork creates a sense of peace and adventure. Buffalo is 25 miles away if you need supplies or a cell signal. Hiking trails are all around. Mountain vistas are prevalent. The Bighorns are mighty big.

The campground is one road with campsites on each side. We were not…

Hidden Gem

We've stayed here a few different times, the last time being in May and the first in early August. There are some great dispersed sites throughout the road to get to this campground... Quite a few people bring their horses and/or off road toys. Great mountain views! Worth the trip every time.
