Pine Creek Campground

Accessible via paved road just off Highway 33, Pine Creek Campground provides 10 basic sites suitable for tents and smaller RVs in Targhee National Forest. The US Forest Service facility operates from May through September at $15 per night, with an additional $6 fee for extra vehicles. Sites include fire rings with grates and picnic tables, while vault toilets and trash service handle essential needs.

The campground's proximity to the highway creates convenient access but generates consistent traffic noise throughout the day and night. "It's close to the road so you can hear traffic going by but otherwise it's a simple $10/night pull in site," notes one camper. Sites offer limited privacy between neighbors, and the compact layout works best for overnight stops rather than extended stays. No hookups or cell service are available.

Pine Creek runs near the campground, and the surrounding evergreen forest occasionally attracts wildlife. The location serves as a practical base for exploring the western Teton range, with day hiking and bicycling opportunities in the area. Campers can find campgrounds around Targhee National Forest for additional options in the region. During off-season periods, the facility operates as free camping with locked restrooms.

The no-pets policy distinguishes this campground from many forest service sites. Consider this spot for a convenient overnight break rather than a destination stay.

Close to Road, Still Scenic

In the off season the sign for the campground is covered, making it a little hard to find. It’s free at that point and the bathrooms are locked. Last week in May is when it opens up and costs $15 and $6 for extra vehicle. Picnic tables and nice fire rings with grate available!

Good, small campground for overnight

Stopped here last minute due to some car issues and were lucky to get last site available at 9 pm. The surrounding area and forest is beautiful. Like other reviews, it is right off the highway making it convenient but a lot of traffic noise

Simple primitive roadside campground

Your basic sites with fire ring and picnic table, pit toilets, and dumpster. Only con is it’s close to the road so you can hear traffic going by but otherwise it’s a simple $10/night pull in site.

Great place to crash for the night

This campground is a great place to crash if you're just passing through or you want to explore the nearby areas. It's very easy and convenient. The campsites are rather small and you don't have much privacy, but its great for what it is!
