Stopped here last minute due to some car issues and were lucky to get last site available at 9 pm. The surrounding area and forest is beautiful. Like other reviews, it is right off the highway making it convenient but a lot of traffic noise
Not one of my favorites. There are some smaller private sites suitable for tents. The only thing this campground has going for it is that it’s right on the yellowstone river. Someone took our campsite while we were in town and there is no campground host. It is right next to railroad tracks which are in use (about 6 or so went by throughout the night)
We loved this campground! Granted we were there on a Monday but were one of 4 sites occupied so very quiet and private. There are lots of sites available but many of them are still very private. We stayed at site 41a which was up on a hill with nice views of the water and land in the distance and a very large site. Only downside is the many mosquitoes at dusk and dawn so come prepared!
Stopped for a night during our cross country travels. Stayed at RV site 4 which is bordered by trees on one side which was nice for privacy. Overall the tent sites appeared to be pretty private although closer together than I expected from looking at the map. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Firewood is for sale. There is a very nice kitchen with running water and showers were large, private, and clean. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it is right off highway and you can hear traffic and I was hoping for a bit more space between sites given what I saw on map. Would definitely stay here again!
If you’re into getting off the grid in the middle of the forest with nearby lakes this is a great spot. Small campground with private sites within pictures rocks lakeshore. Primitive with vault toilets, no showers. There is a water pump. There was no firewood for purchase and we did not see any hosts. No cell service. Would definitely stay here again!
Large family campground with flush toilets, showers and hot water. Right on Lake Michigan with great views of the lake and beach. A bit on the noisy side due to lots of families and kids playing. Not much privacy or space between campsites. We stayed at site 157 which backed up to woods and trails and was a little more spacious than some other sites.
Stopped here on a road trip traveling East to west. Campground is in a residential type area with houses and neighborhoods nearby. Campground staff were very friendly. Vaulted toilets which were very clean and we could also use what seemed to normally be the bathrooms affiliated with sporting fields which have hot water and flush toilets. Not much space or privacy between campsites.
