Pool 4, Riecks Lake Park

Squeezed onto a narrow strip of land between the Mississippi River and a series of backwater ponds, Pool 4, Riecks Lake Park sits roughly 2 miles north of the lock and dam outside Alma, so campers should note that GPS coordinates here run about 2 miles off. The road into the campground is tight. Managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the site provides drinking water, flush toilets, picnic tables, and trash service, with ADA accessibility and cell service available. Access is by car or boat, no pets are allowed, and the campground closes for winter. Waterfowl are consistently present in the surrounding backwaters, making this a reasonable stop for paddlers and wildlife watchers traveling the Mississippi corridor.
