Anglers and wildlife watchers will find Phelps Creek Campground positioned along a creek within the Wenatchee National Forest, operating from June through November. The US Forest Service facility features two loops with clean pit toilets, accommodating RVs up to 30 feet alongside tent sites. Most sites sit well back from the road, creating natural privacy between camping spots.
Two or three sites include horse tethering poles for equestrian visitors. The campground's distance from main roads keeps vehicle noise minimal, allowing the sounds of flowing water and bird activity to dominate. Only two sites provide direct river access, while fishing opportunities exist throughout the creek system for campsites near Wenatchee National Forest. Campers should plan for a quiet stay focused on water-based recreation rather than extensive trail networks or developed amenities.
Description
Located near the confluence of Phelps Creek and the Chiwawa River, about 23 miles from Fish Lake, there are 7 tent sites and 6 equestrian sites at this campground.
