Campground with Great Hiking along Shoreline at Low Tide

Penrose State Park has some of the best shoreline access in the Puget Sound area with good trails inland as well as great coastal access during low tide around the entire Penrose State Park point.

Bring a kayak to tour the bay and the Puget Sound or a fishing rod to fish for Searun Cutthroat…

Lovely but busy

The campground was full with lots of families with young kids (guilty as charged) but the sites felt relatively private and the whole park is heavily wooded. Bathrooms are clean! Caution: the showers are not near the entrance. There is firewood for sale, lots and lots of shade. The beach is a…

Great state park

We car camped with our three kids for a few nights. It was like most state parks, so not super private or remote - but it was a good state park. The tend sites are wooded and private. Showers were cold. We walked down to the beach to clam for dinner, which was a neat experience for the kids.

Great !

We (family of 4) stayed here for two nights. Our 4 & 7 year old had a great time hiking the easy trails, fishing, exploring and chatting with other campers. Very close (1hr) to Seattle, but far enough to forget the city. Spaces were spread well, not cramped together. C.C.C. Trail access off…

Very nice smaller park

RV sites 1, 2, 4, 9, and 11 will be easier to back in to. The other full hook up sites are 90° approaches. Very nice park for playground and a very nice venue building. A lot of picnic tables in the open and in the shade of trees.
Small rocky beach only accessable when the is not to…

Nice campground with clam and oyster beds.

Right on the river on one side of the freeway, and hood canal on the other. Has some road noise for sure. Good hiking.

Cozy Spot

Cute campground very close to Seattle and Bellevue right on the lake. Beautiful beach area, basketball courts, playground, and volleyball right at the site. Spots are a little tight. Looks like they cater mostly to day use and corporate events during season. But they do take great care of the…

Nice resort on the lake

Enjoyed our stay. Spent most of the time on the lake fishing, so we didn't explore the resort much. Great people here, very helpful and friendly.

Convenient location

This a great campsite for quick access to lots of local hikes. Bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. Campsites were also very clean. No trash and dumpsters were emptied. As of 5/22/21 all loops were open on a first come first serve basis. Rate is $24/night or $12/night if you have an…

Great Proximity to hurricane Ridge

This campground is great if you wanna get up to hurricane ridge for sunrise. The the closest campground. The spots felt a little too close together for me but that’s a personal thing. they have porter potty‘s set up. Behind them looks like a place for flushing toilets but it was all locked up.

Lovely

Campground is lovely. I loved falling asleep to the sounds of the Strait and waking up to bird songs of all kinds Looks like most sites are fairly spacious and relatively private. The shared areas are very clean.

Dosewallips State Park, Brinnon, WA - favorite on the Hood Canal

Plenty of FHU sites and loads of camping sites. There are 11 cabins and 3 Platform Tents - combined with RV and tent sites - all of which must be reserved online. Restrooms and Outhouses are numerous and dispersed throughout. Pay Showers ($.50 token) are in central Restrooms. Only 1 shower per…

It's all about the lake

The day use area, fishing dock and boating areas are phenomenal! Reserveable day use shelters, lots of picnic tables and BBQs for all. Also lots of open grassy /park areas that are great for games, picnic, etc.

Camp sites are a little close for comfort, but if planning with others and reserve to…

Not really a campground

This area is right next to a very busy I-5 interstate freeway. I have NEVER considered it a camping spot, more like a truck stop or something else. It is just a bare spot to park for the night at most.
