Sage Horse Camp

Set on the eastern edge of the Olympic Peninsula near campgrounds near Sequim, Sage Horse Camp is a privately managed site that accepts non-equestrian campers as well. Sites include individual fire rings, and a shared community fire pit area is also available. Two porta-potties serve the campground. Amenities cover the basics: drinking water, picnic tables, firewood for purchase, and cell service. At $20-$30 per night with reservations available, it works well as a base for day hikes or visits to the lavender farms in town.

A Quiet, Serene Equestrian Camp

My feline and I were looking for a quiet, off the beaten path sanctuary and found it. We chose spot 14 in the nw corner, hidden and along the northern treeline. The road is gravel and took us a minute to roll in and once there, magnificent. There are amenities for horses to play, trails to ride, and corrals at each of the 15 sites. Although we did not have horses, this place was a wonderful spot to rest our road legs for a couple days.

Well kept camp

We came here around 9pm on a Friday as we couldn’t get any first come spots elsewhere in the area. We don’t have horses but it was a pleasant area to stay in still. Bill came by to check on us and make sure we were settled in okay the next morning which was nice. There is a community fire pit area as well as fire rings at each site. 2 porta potties. We were happy to have found this and glad we could get a site last minute! The area is beautiful and was a good base for a hike and going to the lavender farms in town.
