We only stayed at Wine Country RV Park as an overnight along our way, however, this could be a nice basecamp spot for people who love exploring wineries. The small town of Prosser has almost 30 wineries and tasting rooms in the immediate area and this park is in the midst of them all.
The staff is quite friendly and they offer tastings from local wineries in their community room frequently. It’s worth mentioning that mask-wearing seems to be finished here. To each their own, but I know it’s still very important to some.
The grounds are mostly well-kept though we did see some dog poop as we were walking around and some long term residents that took up more than their own space. The grounds are big-rig friendly and there is some grass between spaces. Premium sites have concrete pads while the lower cost sites are just gravel. The pads are mostly level, but slope upwards in some spots so unhitching can be just a little tricky. There is no privacy between sites, but the sites are wide enough for slide outs and chairs. Hookups were good, wifi was good enough for streaming (the park was only about 1/4 full while we were there). There is a pool and hot tub, both of which were closed for winter, and a small playground and basketball hoop for kids.
Price is reasonable, if a little high, for being in the middle of a bunch of wineries, and they take Good Sam and other membership discounts. The area is quaint with lots of farms (and some of the smells that go along with it). There is a cute bakery just over the bridge in the historic area of town called Jade’s. Give them a visit! Also, for runners/walkers/bikers... there is a very long path system that goes from Prosser and along the highway for miles into Sunnyside! It’s accessible about 1/2 mile from the park. Also walking distance is Vintner’s Village with a series of tasting rooms to visit.

GuideAug. 28th-30th is space #24. Lots of very large spiders everywhere. Mosquitoes were super bad. Nice fire pits but you can't have fires. Showere were decent. They need to be updated. Lots of green grass and lots of shade. All in all not bad. We will be back. Hopefully with less spiders.
GuideJust off Washington SR 14, on an island in the Columbia River, connected by a short causeway to the mainland. The campsites lie on the landward side of a sandy butte that dominates the small island. Trails over and around the butte (no rattlesnakes seen, though signs warned about them) provide great vistas of the Columbia River. Campsites are well-spaced (both back-in and pull-through), with electric and non-electric options. Reasonable cost for a full hookup at $40/night. Showers said to be available, but we didn't use or see them. As others have mentioned, the campground can be windy, although the higher numbered sites, roughly 32-50 (toward the butte, away from the mainland) tend to be calmer.
GuideWe stayed here 2 nights and other than some spiders on our stuff in the morning, and that seems to be only on the sites under the trees, I have zero complaints and will be back next time for a longer stay. The park is very clean and while there are no water hookups they do have filling stations to fill tanks or whatever you use. They also don’t have sewer hookups but do have an on-site dump station for you to empty out. Bathrooms were immaculate and they provided free showers which is a bonus because most places charge for them. Campsites are cozy but spacious and depending on your site you can be right on the Snake River. Beautiful place and had it not been for the alcohol ban it would have got 5 stars
ScoutA big shout out to Wayne, the camp host. He was such a life saver. The in-line water filter in our fifth wheel blew apart so we were checking to find the nearest RV parts place, on a Saturday evening. Wayne had a spare! He let us borrow his spare water filter for the duration of our stay, which saved us a 2-hour round-trip drive to Prosser. While the camp hosts are around, visible, and staying busy, they let the campers be campers to enjoy their time.
The water was super calm, so kayaking was very enjoyable. The grounds were clean and green.
GuideStayed here a couple of nights. Our site was a tenting site, but we were in our mini Meerkat camper and we fit (our choice). Almost abandoned, probably because of huge hail storm. Friendly host “Dutch” and a few walk about simple hiking paths. Bathrooms and showers very nice (coin op on the showers). Road noise was pretty loud, especially for the campsites further into the campground. But, tall pines all around us, and very uncrowded. Wouldn’t want to come here if it were full, the sites are very close together. We were at the end of a very long trip, and we were happy to find any easy place to stay just inside WA. There are no stores nearby, so get your groceries in Goldendale!
LegendMay 26 - June 6, 2019 Beautiful park. Site 23 has electric. Water is nearby. Restroom was just OK. Water tank can be filled at park at dump station : ( We paid $12 using our lifetime senior pass. Temperature ranged from 40 to 80 degrees.

GuideCamped here from Tuesday through Saturday. Campground was quiet and clean. Be aware of what campsite you get as we picked spot 27 and we’re not made aware before hand that you need an escort to your site due to the site facing the opposite way of traffic. It is also right off of the train tracks and the train runs numerous times a day and early in the morning. Nice swimming area but unless you have a boat there is really nothing to do in the area. Did go see the Whitman Mission which was definitely worth checking out. Site 16 is the best but only has power, no water hookups or sewer. None of the site’s have sewer hookups. There’s a dump station on site though with a black water flush out and also potable water available. Site 27 was in the direct sunlight, no shade, all day. Also had strong side winds coming off of the lake. There’s a trail to the lake but we were warned not to use it due to the high likely hood of encountering rattlesnakes.
