Nice place overall

We’ve stayed here a few times over the last 25 years and it’s always been clean and well-kept. They upgraded the pool and hot tub several years ago if I recall, though those are probably closed due to COVID right now. We’ve stayed in the cabins and also in RV spots- all of which were clean and cozy.

RV spots were mostly level with gravel pads and grass surrounding. The mature trees are nice shade but are large so maneuvering in ways that won’t impede doors or awnings can be tricky- just know your equipment and double check before you level and settle in.

There used to be fishing in the little waterway/ pond, and when my kids were small they loved that. Dunno if that’s still an option. Staff were really friendly and always willing to help. Quiet place (even just off the highway). There is a market within walking distance (Fischer’s) for necessities.

I this is the place that has (a?) roaming peacock(s) which is definitely different, and they’re surprisingly loud (for a non-peacock household, I mean) but they weren’t mean or antagonizing. It has been awhile though, so I could have this place confused with somewhere else. If so, I’ll edit to remove the peacock reference!

Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re going to be out there anyway, but if you’re interested in finding things to do once you’re here, there’s really not much unless you’re an avid outdoorsman and like hunting and fishing during their seasons.

Resort...not

Just okay campground. Not much privacy. Dirty place. Not kept up. Friendly staff. Private but got a couple nights free. Easy walk into town and right next to the river.
