Within Wasatch National Forest, Lower Narrows Campground provides three sites with metal fire rings and picnic tables in Utah's west desert climbing country. The US Forest Service facility sits along a creek beneath overhanging limestone cliffs that offer some of the region's most challenging rock climbing routes. A vault toilet serves all sites within a short walk.
The campground lacks water and trash facilities, requiring campers to pack in supplies and pack out all waste. The adjacent creek provides relief from summer heat and holds trout for anglers willing to explore the water. Most climbing routes concentrate near the Upper Narrows location just upstream. Sites cost $15 per night, with the creek access and climbing proximity making advance planning worthwhile during peak seasons.
