Stansbury Island BLM Dispersed

Stansbury Island rises out of the Great Salt Lake basin as a broad, arid landform with sweeping views across the flats and a network of dirt offshoots off the paved access road where BLM land opens up for dispersed camping. Fire rings dot the terrain and an RV can fit without trouble on the wider pullouts, but the island doubles as an informal shooting area — activity that can run from midday well into the evening and, on occasion, overnight. Hikers and petroglyphs are also part of the island's character; if you venture far from your rig, bright clothing and situational awareness around active shooting areas are worth keeping in mind.
