Description
Pruess Lake sits at the edge of the Snake Valley on BLM land just off UT-21, with the Snake Range and Great Basin National Park rising to the south — one of the more dramatic backdrops available from a highway-adjacent pullout in western Utah. Several pull-offs line the lakeshore corridor, offering wide-open views across the water and notably little traffic noise despite the proximity to the highway. The surface along the lake margin is soft silt that can be treacherous when dry or wet, so high-clearance vehicles with recovery gear are strongly advisable; the elevated pullouts above the lake, staying right off the main track, offer firmer ground.
