Gorgeous Canyon Site

Site #1 is an absolute gem 💎

Pros ✨F*cking beautiful surroundings ✨ Tiny adorable lizards everywhere Right on the water to help keep cool Beautiful colorful birds are abundant Very affordable Site #1 specifically -super private -great shade until noon

Cons RIDICULOUS BUGS AFTER DARK -saw a camel spider 💀 -lots of gnats -got a huge spider bite right away -not too many mosquitos Very hot during mid-day (obviously) No direct water access Sites 2 and 3 seem really hot and sunny 🥵🔥

Overall, I think it's a great campground in the area of arches and canyon lands and it's drop dead gorgeous. I would avoid all the camp grounds on this river if you can't handle bugs or don't like the cute little lizards vibing around you.

Cheap, one hour from Zion

All the campgrounds near Zion get really full, so if you don’t mind driving a bit and going a day without showers, this is a good campground. You have to drive on a dirt road for a while to get there. But hey, it’s only $5!!

Easy access, free, campfire rings, dispersed.

Stopped here on our way back home through Utah. We got in on a Saturday night in December and found multiple sites available. Both sites we looked at had enough space for multiple vehicles and tents, or an RV/trailer. There was some traffic that passed by throughout the night and morning but not a significant amount. The road was well maintained and easily passable in dry conditions with a low-clearance 2WD vehicle. Our site was mostly trash/glass free. The views of surrounding hills and mountains were nice, although the noise from the freeway was still audible. Verizon cell service was good and internet was useable. Would definitely stay here again if looking for a quick spot to overnight for free.
