Chimney Rock Dispersed

OHV enthusiasts will find multiple camping spots scattered across this dispersed area in Utah's desert terrain. Chimney Rock Dispersed provides free camping with abundant rocks for building fire pits and some juniper trees offering shade and privacy between sites. The area accommodates both drive-in and walk-in access, allowing campfires, pets, and alcohol.

Daytime hours bring heavy OHV traffic, while nights feature active coyote populations. Campers should bring their own firewood since dead trees are scarce in the immediate area. The site works well for winter desert camping and can handle large groups planning bonfires. For those exploring the broader region, camping spots near Eureka provide additional options.

Not Bad for Desert Camping

I’ve camped here a couple times. Not bad for desert camping. It’s a good spot for winter camping.

Pros

  • Many Camping Spots
  • Tons of Rocks for Fire Pits
  • Great Spot for Large Bonfires
  • There are some Juniper Trees for Privacy and Shade

Cons

  • There aren’t many dead trees for wood
  • Not very peaceful during the day because it’s a popular spot for OHV vehicles
  • Coyotes are very active at night
  • Not the prettiest spot
