Long drive to the good sites.

40+ foot 5th wheel, 4x4 Ram After a conversation with the Info center in Cannonville, we chose to drive through Long Canyon, past the Long Canyon overlook (Overlook #2) to Wolverine Loop Road. It was a 50-55 minute drive from Boulder. The site we saw right near the road, visible from the overlook, turned out to be our favorite. If you're in a small vehicle, the path to the left when entering this space will take you to an even better view. 37.9224377, -111.2339323

Gorgeous

The location is close to the road but we found a beautiful spot surrounded by incredible views. Even though it was a holiday weekend, there were only two other jeeps far away from us. We will be returning to explore the area in the near future.

Beautiful, but spooky

Maybe we’re scardy cats. But there was no one else around us, and after the sun went down a spooky vibe took me and my 2 friends over. We ended up sleeping in the car and leaving first thing in the morning. Is 9 miles down a road, away from civilization. Definitely back country camping, and not for the faint of heart. Camp at your own risk. crazy beautiful views tho!!

Love this area camping, hiking ATV riding

Love this area in Oct. heading back this year. Found a great spot with a bit of a trail right from our site. Pack it out. No services. Great hiking from ATV trails, lots of dispersed sites with shade and privacy. Beauty all around you! Stayed in our 16’ travel trailer for 4 nights.

Camping

Got down there early Friday morning on a holiday weekend expecting everywhere to be packed. Outside of a few other campers we had an amazing spot and the animals all loved it!

Dispersed camping along the Burr Trail Rd

This spot is just before you head down into Long Canyon on the Burr Trail Rd. Approx 30 to 45 min from Boulder. There are various sites scattered around. Some have fire pits that previous users have built. There are absolutely no services or amenities here. Great views into Steep Creek Canyon. The weather was amazing but a little windy as its on a bluff. Check out Singing Canyon and Lower Gulch trail while you are in the area. Pack it in pack it out, make sure your fire is out.
