New Favorite Campground

We managed to secure a site right on the lake and the view was gorgeous. The sites were far enough apart where you still felt some privacy. Table and fire pit were in good condition, and restrooms are a 2 minute walk down the road.

Spacious tree covered sites on a beautiful lake

We loved our stay at Limekiln Lake! We had site 270, which was close enough to walk down to the boat launch at night to look at the stars (and the Milky Way!) but a little too far to walk to the beach. Our site was spacious, with room for two cars, 4 kayaks, and two tents. The site features a picnic table (great condition) and a concrete fire pit (not so great condition, but it worked). Site 270 is just around the corner from the bathroom and water spigot, and feels very private within the rest of the campground. Behind the site is wooded forest, and the campsites on either side are far enough away to feel secluded. Because the site is surrounded by trees, we hung up multiple hammocks for a very cozy weekend! We walked around the campground and would love to snag one of the lakefront sites in future years! We spent a good deal of time out on the lake in our kayaks. The flies are actually pretty horrible- not sure if it’s a late year for them or if they’re just particularly bad this year, but they were relentless. The lake this time of year is beautiful and clear and a very nice temperature for dunking in. There’s a lot to explore out on the kayaks. If we had had more energy, we would’ve loved to bring the kayaks out at night to look at the stars. The campground is dog friendly, and our pup had a great time. Additionally, there are best boxes at each site, which was nice to store our coolers and garbage bag in. Unfortunately, our friends left a couple of closed bags of chips in there, and mice got into them, we think through a tiny crack. The bathrooms were pretty clean and had ample soap supply in this weird time of COVID. We didn’t check out the showers, but they did have them further down by the beach. Overall we loved this site!

one of a kind in Adirondack

with a group of 5 stayed in this campground 2 nights for 4th of july weekend, i would love to go back any time i was carefull about the resevation and picked campsite 005 on reserveAmerica website. i wanted a spot next to the water so i could land our kayaks and canoes at the campsite. thanks to this link below i found number 5, secluded and quiet, enough parking sport for two and i think even a good size camper can fit eoth no problem.

https://www.campadk.com/campsitephotos/campgrounds/Limekiln+Lake/site/5

highly recommend check your site before you go.

ok first of all, the lake is beautiful and quiet very very clean water you can see the bottom. i have been to multiple lakes in Adirondack, you may confirm one of the cleanests. the water temperature was very reasonable, it was not freezing or very warm, it is within the perfect comfort zone in july.

the campground management provides kayak and canoes with reasonable prices and very laidback about it which is kinda nice, you pay at the enterance and go to the beach and grab your kayak, sef service.

there is a box to keep your gargabe or food from the black bears which was nice.

the campground is very strict abou trhe gargabe though, which can be a problem because there are no garbage dumbsters all over the camp it is only at the enterance , which means better keep your garbage bags clean not punched, torn or anything other wise you may have to drive it leaky bags all the way thru the camp in your cars, we had almost that problem. rules are rules better separate recyclable stuff before you get there.

there was no signal for Tmobile at this yard but the campground has pay phones where all in state numbers are free to call.

Beautiful area

There were a ton of sites here, but only a handful occupied during a week in midJune. The flies and gnats were kind of bad, but we had a screen room to keep them at bay. Campground was lovely!! Nice variety of sites. We stayed right on the water. The lake was beautiful. Town of Inlet was pretty cute. Friendly staff and very helpful. Rented a canoe for the day and found a patch of carnivorous plants and got up close with several birds on the water.

July 2018 Camping

This was our first time here and we loved it! The staff were very pleasant. Campground and facilities were clean. campsite were very nice. we were on site 98 (water site) as it was amazing. Wild life here is amazing! Keep in mind Black Bears are present and sssn on the campground during our stay. we were able to put our kayaks in the water at our site and the water area was sandy so we could go swimming right at our site. kayaking was great! a small water passage off the lake leads you to a beautiful queit kayak trip through lily pads ans if you follow it leads to a beaver dam. My son loved it. There is a wslking/hiking trail right off the camping grounds. There are plenty of places close by to get firewood. The campground sold ice right at the gate which was reasonably priced and very convenient. We did not have cell service at camp but they did have pay phones at the gate. The center of the Town of Inlet was only a short 10 minute drive and provided some great little shops. there was a market store, coffee shops, dIner, Icecream shop, and a couple other places to eat. The department store had everything you could need (gifts, clothes, hardware, camping, housewares, fishing)!
The town park/beach was beautiful! We still did not have cell service but the town had free WiFi (best reception at the park/beach). We were able to make phone calls over WiFi.

Weekend trip

My girlfriend and I came to limekiln lake to enjoy a weekend of Adirondack hiking. This campground was well maintained and the staff were beyond friendly. They provide bear lockers big enough to house your yeti coolers and secure enough to give you piece if mind while sleeping. From limekiln lake campground we were able to complete a number of hikes, having to only drive minutes down route 28! If you aren't big on hiking the village of inlet is less than a 10 minute drive and Is quaint, cozy and has some of my favorite fudge! Overall, we will be visiting this campground again. Book early and get a site right on the water!

Great place!

Enjoyed 3 nights here with no complaints. There is a minor bear problem but they didn't do much besides sniff around. Rangers were always right on top of things when one would wonder around and sure to chance them off. Good helpful staff and a nice location near the water. Will be returning for sure.
