Nice location
Nice location to beach. We were 3 spots away from beach access. Lots to do. There is a Walmart neighborhood market across the street. It takes about 25 mins to get to Broadway on the Beach so the downside was driving distance to things outside of the Campground. However there is plenty to keep people busy at the camp. Spots are tight and we needed neighbors to move their cars and things to get out. Due to limited room, people park in front of campers so the cars are sticking out a little. They did have issues with WiFi but we had our own so it was not an issue for us.

Nice but commercialized
Good.
Good campground staff
Liked the professional approach to all activities etc. Bathrooms were amazing.
Hey, Scout! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We hope you come back to see us again soon!
Great community
Great campground with good values. A wonderful community where everyone is friendly and we all drive around on golf carts. (Plenty to rent here if you don’t own one!) There is a golf cart parade every night so decorations are heavily encouraged! It’s just a good quality campground that my family has enjoyed for many years! It’s where I learned to ride my bike without training wheels, it’s where my wife camped for the first time ever in both a tent and 5th wheel, and it’s where my family spends the last week of June every year. I can not recommend this campground enough!

Grayson, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a meaningful a review! We absolutely love that Lakewood has become such an important part of your family & memories. We're grateful for guests like you who choose to share us with your family over generations. We look forward to welcoming you back in June of 2024!
Summer Vacation
We chose Lakewood Campground because it was on the beach. It was amazing for that and had LOTS of amenities. The only drawback was the tightness of the sites and the sheer number of campers. It was very hard for us to maneuver or almost 40 foot camper into our site and the neighbors had to move vehicles in order for us to finally get parked. Once parked though we had an awesome time. Our site was at the very front of the park. We just walked across the campground road and onto the beach access. There was a water park with slides and lazy river attached to the main pool. There was also kids water play for smaller kids. They had mini golf onsite. They also had an arcade, ice cream shops, store, restaurants, fishing, bike rentals and golf cart rentals. You definitely need a golf cart to get around the place it is so big! They also had a large playground in the front of the park for the kids. In addition to the large main pool there was an indoor pool at the font of the park as well. You get wristbands and use of the water park and mini golf was included! It was such an awesome deal for the price we paid. Even though the site were packed and super tight I would definitely go back.
Awesome family fun
There is something for everyone. You never need to leave the campground. 3 pools, one indoor heated, kiddy, outdoor with a slide, lazy River that wraps waterside. Right off mrytle beach ocean front, all sorts of game courts, craft house, arcade, store, restaurant, mini golf, you name it.

Our favorite so far!
We planned this trip with my Aunt and Uncle and their family. Two campers and 11 people. We were able to get the camps together and it was great. Grassy spots but are very wide. We got there on a Sunday and left on the following Friday. We also rented a golf cart which is highly recommended. Great beach access along with all the conveniences of food and gifts. Kids had the best time of their lives here! We did too, we highly recommend this camp site.
Family Fun for all Ages
Whether you like the pool, lake, or beach this campground has something for everybody. Nearly everything is included in the cost of your stay & the onsite amenities make it hard to want to ever leave the park.
Great family experience
Had an amazing time enjoying the campground and other campers were very friendly and outgoing like us!! Great coffee house and other amenities!!
Family friendly beach camping
Family friendly campground with its own private beach. Ice cream shop, mini golf, water park, bball courts, arcade all included.
Summer destination
We have stayed at Lakewood for the last 10 years for our summer vacation. This year we booked 2 weeks and rode out our first hurricane!! We really enjoy the quite family atmosphere and the short walk to the beach. The water park is super fun for our children. They love the water slides and I love the lazy river that allows me to float around and watch them. My kids love to go fishing at night and crabbing at the inlet. We ride golf carts and enjoy the activities the campground provide. The bathhouses are usually clean. They have a good coffee house and store with really good food. We really enjoy our summers at Lakewood!!

Great place
Great family campground we’ve stayed at many times this year. Water park for kids and beach access.
Comfortable
Not as huge as it’s Southern neighbor and not as small as it’s Northern neighbor. It is quite cozy and has more shade. Not as busy a campground either. Kind of exactly like it’s location, a comfortable medium amenities campground. I always look forward to coming back!
Family Friendly
Been to this Campground as a child and now visiting as an adult with my child. Family friendly and very helpful staff. Plenty to do for all ages. Only downfall is so many golf carts and the amount of young teens riding around in the evening 9-10 pm or later with music loud. Will definitely be going back for future beach visits

Disappointed
This campground was ok. If you like crowded, un-level, brownish water, and just no sense of relaxation, then this is the place for you. The place is packed. Great for the kids, because there is a ton of stuff for them to do. There is no time for a parent to catch their breath. Fireworks are shot off until 11pm or later every night. My campsite was very un-level. I about couldn’t reach the first step getting into my camper. The water hookup produced a discolored water that had a brownish tint to it. The staff at check in were just trying to herd everyone through like cattle. Didn’t even fix an error on their part when they should have. All in all it was ok. We may or may not go back again.
Overall experience was great however
The park stipulates 10 mph through park however they allow the golf carts to be driven by 16 year olds/ teenagers and adults to drive faster. The teens have no respect for anyone else 2 people in our group got hit with one. They blast thier music up and down each street after 10pm. After almost getting run over myself by a girl who had no lights on I spoke with one of the 2 security guards that was just sitting parked watching the kids and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I think they should hold the parents/ kids accountable by taking kids off the carts and take the carts to parents to reprimand them and if continue take cart away with no refund. Maybe then the parents will pay attention to what is gping on rather than letting the do what they want.
Love, Love, Love!
Perfect summer vacation spot! Right on the beach.. water park in the campground! Coffee shop.. snack bar.. activities.. laundry mat..
Christian campground
When our children were young, back in the early 90s, we camped here & loved all it had to offer. We especially liked the church services & bible studies. Now 25 yrs later, we are retired & came back this week on a last minute trip. Still the same great place but bigger. I can imagine it would be quite busy in the summer but this week was perfect for us retired folks. Enjoyed the beach & the indoor pool & hot tub. Visited the coffee shop for some good coffee & biscuits & gravy. Would love to bring the grandkids back.
Lakewood campground in Myrtle Beach.
Lakewood is my favorite place to camp. It is a nice family oriented campground with 1300 campsites. Amenities include full hookup with cable and free WiFi. The campground has 2 swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and a water park, two ice cream parlors, coffee house, bike rentals, miniature golf for no additional cost. They also have golf cart available for rent. The closest grocery is conveniently located just across the highway via a stop light. The campground offers ocean front sites and shaded sites.
Beach RV Resort
Beachside resort with over 2000 sites. No shade trees but clean and organized for beach fun. Many amenities and activities for a fun beach trip.
A great campground with so much to do without leaving park.
On beach with a very welcoming atmosphere.
Great family time
This is on the ocean, full hookups, pool, volleyball, output, store, tight spots, but beautiful
Rv Park on the beach!
Rated a 5 star! Spent five days here with three kids. There was everything for all ages. Bathhouses were clean, water park was a hit for the kids and the beach was great. My wife loved the coffee house and the fact there was an onsite laundrymat. Next time we will reserve an Oceanfront for the concrete patio. Highly recommend this place!
Quiet and not much to do
We stayed at this campground July 2018. We have a 27’ travel trailer, a 9 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son, and 2 boxers. Checkin was very easy. We drove up to the gate, they gave us our paperwork and drove to our site. Our site was 7002. It was the last street in the resort and the furthest away from the pool and amenities. We drove our car to the pool and there was plenty of parking there. We had a great view of the beach. Across the street are empty lots which was a great place to walk our dogs. And next to these lots are a small canal which was great to fish. You could see minnows swimming around.
like most rv resorts this place packed them in like sardines. Where we were it looked nice but when you went down the main road and got into the 1000 sections it looked really trashy.
The beach is small with no lifeguards Lakewood does not supply lifeguards. This beach does not have a shower at the beach but that was fine because we have one outside our travel trailer.
our kids enjoyed the pool area. The 3 water slides were great. 1 speed slide (it was super fast), 1 tube slide which was a lot of fun, and 1 body slide. The water slides are new. There is also a lazy river that was a sorry excuse for a lazy river. It was a small circle area and did not flow real well so you had to push yourself around. Complaint: there are not enough tubes. I asked a lifeguard if they had any tubes and she said “it’s really busy this week and they have no more”. They should have enough tubes to accommodate every rv spot in that place. The pool wasn’t even that busy the day we were there. So if you stay here be prepared to not get a tube. Also, some of the lifeguards are rude. Did not find this to be a happy place. Next to the water slide there is a good sized pool with a very outdated baby water slide. My kids loved this baby water slide but the area was very outdated. Around the pool there are chairs but not enough so we ended up placing our items on the concrete. There were a lot of people doing this. They need more seating.
There is an ice cream shop which was very nice, a good size arcade, and a coffee shop and we utilized all 3. They were far from our site but we drove our car to them and it wasn’t a problem.
At the front gate there is a small store and it did not have very much. I drove to Walmart to get the food items I needed.
There are 2 food trucks. 1 is pizza, wings, etc and the other is a fish fry. The pizza truck was just ok and they do not deliver to your campsite. the fish fry was never open. We tend to eat late when we are on vacation so I think we missed the fish fry everyday.
I saw signs for car/rv wash but never used that service.
I was not happy with Lakewood but my husband loved it because it was very quiet. That’s the difference between us. I love hustle and bustle and he likes simple and quiet.
when we return to Myrtle beach we will not stay at Lakewood. I feel that there are better places to stay in Myrtle beach. My husband disagrees with this statement 😄

Family friendly beach camping with lots of amenities.
This campground has great sites that are easy to back into. Picnic tables at each site. Free mini golf, paddle boats, shuffle board, cornhole and a water park. They have a store and gift shop and prepared food for purchase.

The campground was very clean and we'll kept. Lots of activities.
Early checkout
Known this place since I was in short pants
I've been camping out at this resort since I was a wee kid in short pants tooling around on my bike.
Like most camping resorts in this area, it has pretty much anything you'd want. You can still go out and enjoy the Myrtle Beach area sights and sounds, but, if you don't want to, you'd never have to leave the park.

Great campground!
There's lots of stuff for kids to do.
Family friendly mega campground
The most family friendly campground in south Myrtle Beach. There is a coffee house, seaside amphitheater, seaside indoor pool, and tons of activities for the family, all of which is included with your campsite. The public areas are very well maintained although the campsites are moderate. Site spacing is tight. They have direct beach access, easy to enjoy during a morning stroll. Unfortunately they have a very strict rule on bringing your own golf cart and have to rent one through them at a extremely high cost compared to other local campgrounds.
We stayed here in a Class C and Class A motor home numerous times.
