Cunningham Lake Dam Site 11 Campground

This Army Corps of Engineers campground sits within Glenn Cunningham Recreation Area, requiring advance reservations and prohibiting pets. The facility underwent renovations through 2020, adding concrete pads and improved water and electrical distribution to its established sites.

Campers find well-spaced sites with fire rings, most featuring picnic tables and good shade coverage. Several sites position directly alongside Cunningham Lake, providing immediate water access for fishing and paddling. The lake supports kayak, paddleboard, and sailboat rentals, though algae conditions and water quality can vary seasonally. A small, rocky beach area serves day-use visitors, while a playground sits across from the restroom facilities.

Gravel roads connect the camping areas, with maintenance crews keeping the grass mowed throughout the season. Bryan S. notes the improvements include "better water distribution, electrical distribution and concrete pads." Traffic on the internal roads can generate dust during busy periods. Water tank filling stations operate near the campground entrance.

The location works well for RV campers seeking lake access without excessive crowds. Lake Cunningham Campground provides an alternative less than half a mile away, while campers exploring the broader region can find additional campgrounds around Glenn Cunningham Recreation Area.

OK

the campsites are nice and spread apart. There is a fire ring at each site and good shade. The lake is decent sized and there are kayaks, paddle boards and sail boats for rent. The beach is very small and rocky, the lake has a lot of algae this year and there was a fish kill so lots of dead fish floating. The roads are gravel and there was a lot of traffic causing a lot of dust. The bathroom had toilet paper the entire 3 day weekend! Overall, ok.

Very well kept campground

Just a quick disclaimer on my 4 star review. For most people this would be a 5 star campground however I gave it only 4 because I personally like campgrounds that offer more seclusion. This is a very nice campground. The lawns were nicely mowed, and the roads only had a couple potholes. There is a lot of nice shaded areas. Each site is equipped with a fire ring and many of the locations have a picnic table. There are a couple of the spots right along side the lake. There is a small playground for the kids across from some nice restrooms. There is also an area to fill water tanks before entering the campground. All in all, I would recommend this place to a friend or family
