Think rustic—not romantic

We rented a room for my husbands birthday and parked our camper trailer in the front parking lot (25ft).

We rented a room with a large tub and it was far too pricy for what we got in return. Tub was filled with animal poo and old hair. We asked management to clean it from former guests and they were initially hesitant about it—saying maybe they would clean it ?!

Plumbers were there for multiple hours both days, parked directly in front of our room yelling back and forth which was very frustrating. Staff also didn’t seem to know which rooms were rented as they stood directly in front of our window to hold conversations. It was a huge bummer.

No dishes available unless requested from front desk. Bathroom worked well, WiFi worked well—no Verizon or ATT cell service. Good location. Broken “fireplace” and lamps.

Camping platform sites, car / van camping in front lot (but small area would not recommend anything over 25 feet.)

Truly far too expensive for the experience. Pretty bummed.

Hotel more than Camping

Friendly staff. The property is very dated from images on their website. They turn on massive amounts of Christmas lights over the property all night making it impossible to sleep. More of a hotel vs camping experience. Bathroom is very dated but existed. Could use some major renovations. The vans they rent are very rusty and old.

Sweet

Front desk was amazing. So nice to have a shower. Great beer selection which was unexpected cause didn't think they'd have beer. Tent sites are neat. Didnt think from the pictures I'd have to navigate up like I did. It was good though, quite.

The Perfect Home Base In Boulder Canyon

The A-Lodge just outside of Boulder is the ultimate adventure home base. Developed in 2015 from an old motel property along a beautiful, babbling creek in the heart of Boulder Canyon, the current owners have added tent campsites, an RV parking area, a youth hostel, on-site cafe with tap room and canned wine, patio with communal fire pit, and an amazing hot tub in a little gazebo.

There are trails on site that connect to the larger Betasso Trail Network, a small slackline park, daily happy hour specials, bottle fill stations, and snacks, drinks, and a few basics available for sale on site. On top of all that, it's a cannabis-friendly campground (though you are asked to keep your puffing and passing to designated smoking areas outside). There's a beautiful bridge surrounded by twinkle lights coating the trees like vines and you fall asleep to the sound of the creek. You're just twenty minutes (if that) outside Boulder, and only an hour from Rocky Mountains National Park/Estes Park and two from Mt. Evans.

Mountain biking and hiking are popular in the area, as well as angling. A-Lodge offers guided expeditions, yoga classes, campervan rentals, etc. and they are very sweet and accommodating hosts. Whatever you're hoping to get into in the area, they'll help you put it together. This place was just as accommodating and comfortable for a solo adventurer like myself as it was for the several families also staying there with small children. Eat up at the continental breakfast included in your stay— there's yogurt, coffee, oatmeal, tea, and a waffle maker.
