Reservations are available through an online system, and the gate at Wolf Creek Park is staffed by a constable after normal hours, so arrival logistics here are more structured than at many county-managed campgrounds. The park runs from March 1 through November 30 and sits along the shore of Lake Livingston near Coldspring, with select sites backing directly up to the water. Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections are available at many sites, and a dump station serves those without sewer access. Sites are level, with concrete parking pads and moveable picnic tables.

The campground has developed a consistent reputation for cleanliness. Trash is collected from individual sites multiple times daily, and the restroom and shower facilities receive regular attention. Cody C. calls the restrooms "well lit and spotless," and several other reviewers echo that assessment. One consistent trade-off: sites in the main camping area have little vegetation between them, so privacy is limited. The park restricts day visitors on weekends, which keeps the atmosphere noticeably calmer even when sites are full.

Water access is a central draw. Lakefront sites in the A3 section offer direct views of Lake Livingston and easy entry to the water. A roped-off swimming area with shallow, calm water works well for families with young children. The boat launch is in good condition with fuel available for purchase, and the on-site camp store rents paddle boats, canoes, and paddleboards. Anglers find the lake productive. Cell service runs to about three bars on T-Mobile in the A3 area, enough for streaming. The park does not have WiFi. Campers who want to explore nearby options on Lake Livingston can also look into Browder's 3278 Marina to the south or Khushatta Hills Ranch Camp a few miles southeast. Site 62 draws repeat mentions for its lakefront position and level pad, and site 50 gets a similar nod from recent visitors. If a lakeside site is available, it's worth requesting one when booking.

Lovely, quiet lakeside spot with well-spaced spots and pristine grounds.

I'd never heard of the Trinity River Authority before. It's not a name that jumps out when one thinks of camping. But in Texas, perhaps it should be. The private company built dams and reservoirs all over the state and funds their operations through water sales and permit use.

Lake Livingston is one such project, the 3rd largest lake in Texas and the largest one constructed for drinking water. The company is clearly very serious about maintaining beautiful and professionally run grounds. The sites are generally well-monitored, spaced nicely, and situated with great water views if you choose one in that area (see my map photo). The park does not allow day use in camping areas nor day entry at all on weekends, keeping the entire park reserved for paid RV guests.

I grew up around Lake Grapevine, another TRA project though I didn't know it as a kid. But I've never woken up to find a sunrise over a lake right outside my bedroom window. That's pretty special.

Like another reviewer mentioned, I did see a dog running loose and investigating people's campgrounds.

If you're in Texas and want peace, quiet, total darkness (there are no lights of any kind in the camping area), and lower temps than Houston, come check out Wolf Creek Park.

Excellent Park

Excellent campground. Clean, manicured, on Lake Livingston. Site 50 is the best in the park.

Great family friendly find on Lake Livingston!

Very well kept facilities, nice, level sites. Very family friendly environment - I think because they do not allow day visitors on weekends. Everyone I encountered with the park were nothing but professional and super friendly. Trash pickup from the curb was an added bonus. Can’t wait to go back!

Lake Livingston Gem

This Park is on the edge of being a 5 STAR park... 

PROS 

Senior Discount 

Check-in at the gate without leaving vehicle NO street lights in A3 campground, so good dark sky viewing(when neighbors don’t have a dozen campsite lights illuminating 3-4 campsites) 

Very very quiet Sunday thru Wednesday 

Site 62 backs up to Lake Livingston so excellent view of lake and easy accessibility from lakefront campsites 

Site 62 12 ft wide concrete parking pad level 

Moveable wooden and metal picnic table on concrete pad 

Metal fire ring(no cooking grate) 

Pedestal BBQ grill Campsite utility hook-ups in good condition with no problems encountered

Very clean toilet/shower facility; it took 3 men 2 hours in a Monday to clean one facility, but no cleaning Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday(didn’t even pick up the trash)!

Paid$3.50 reservation fee for completing 100% on-line reservation 

On Day#2 of our stay, a neighbor camper came to us to inform us that the park manager just stopped by his site(we were at our site and saw him) to let him know there was a burn ban established for the next 7 days and that he need to spread the word to other campers. Two days later we saw a small burn ban sign posted at the toilet/shower facility. Communicating this crucial information needs improved. Perhaps posting signs throughout the park, especially at the entrance. 

Trip hazard on the picnic table concrete where someone cut the chains that held the table in place 

Numerous dogs roaming…no leash and no human 

Absolutely no privacy from any other campsite as there is no vegetation between campsites 

No evening trash pickup so have to store trash created by evening cooking 

Gate was not closed overnight 

Camp store and water craft rental closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 

No wildlife sightings 

No park WIFI 

No camp hosts

Outstanding

Loved our time at this park. Site was spacious though couldn’t get right on the water. Friendly neighbors and staff. Store on site. Fishing for catfish from the bank was great.

Nice spots with friendly people

The camping spots were easy to set up in with access to water and electricity. The only downside was that the camping spot we were in was really close to the other sites so you'll have very little privacy. The camp store was run by friendly helpful people and the facilities were clean. Just be aware that during October there is a group that camps there yearly that can get quite loud.

The Best I’ve seen

This is a beautiful campground. We are at spot #24, but it’s looks like every site is awesome. They have a little store on site. The project is clean and well maintained. We will definitely come back.

Clean, Well Maintained with excellent restrooms

This campground is probably one of the best in the area. It's clean, well maintained with excellent restrooms that are well lit and spotless. The boat launch is in great condition with plenty of parking. The camp store is well stocked and operated by the nicest of people. Slushes and Pickles all day! You've got all the amenities for RVs, lots of picnic tables and the campsites are well spaced out with fire pits electricity including 30 amp along with water. Lake Livingston is great for fishing and they have a designated safe swim area. Overall this is a very safe, very clean and family-oriented campground. Highly Recommend.

Great camp!

The sites themselves are as described on their website. Even the smallest site had plenty of room for a family to enjoy the outdoors with out feeling cramped.

Can’t wait to go back!

Edit: We came back for Labor Day and it wasn’t to crowded! We tried the swimming area for the first time and we absolutely loved it. It’s perfect for the kiddos and not to deep, no matter how far you go out.

Had a blast here! Very kid friendly despite the playground being closed, the people who helped us were all very friendly. Water is shallow but once you get out of the little cove that the boat ramp is in, it’s smooth sailing. The sights are also very nice. Would definitely recommend to friends and we can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful setting great sites

Hidden gem of  campground with very large sites, good distance between them and right on Lake Livingston.

This campground has plenty of shaded sites with plenty of space for walking pets, riding bicycles or just fishing.

Been going for years

Used to tent camp there then finally got a TT and it was amazing! Got a premium spot, plenty of room, park rangers were nice and a constable patrolled ever so often.

Great place to stay!

We’ve stayed here quite a few times. Love the lakefront sites. Clean bathrooms and showers. This park is closed to the general public on weekends, so even if it is filled with campers, things are usually pretty calm and quiet.

Wonderful setting and very clean. One of our favorites

If you want to enjoy a wonderful lake front getaway this is the park for you. Some spots are right on the water and the atmosphere is wonderful. They have a guarded gate and cute store in the park. The bathroom/showers are very clean and well kept. Do not worry about the month you decide to go, as there are plenty of trees. Also features a playground and designated swimming area. Fun!

Wonderful family camping with nice amenities.

Wolf Creek Park is well maintained with many nice shady campsites. Sites have water and electricity and some have sewer hookups. There’s a central dump station available as well. There’s a nice swimming area, playground and boat ramp with fuel for purchase. You can rent paddle boats, canoes and paddle boards, play miniature golf and purchase basic supplies from the park store. The park allows parking of extra vehicles on the grass adjacent to your site, so there’s room for your boat or extra vehicles.

Wolf Creek

Spent holiday weekend with the family. Bicycling, Swimming, Fishing, putt putt golf. The kids loved the park and the golf. I have been camping here since I was a child and now get to share the same experience with my kids.
