Wolf Creek

Spent holiday weekend with the family. Bicycling, Swimming, Fishing, putt putt golf. The kids loved the park and the golf. I have been camping here since I was a child and now get to share the same experience with my kids.

Double Lake Recreation Area

Weekend family camp full of hiking, kayaking, fishing and biking. Restrooms were clean and stocked. We stayed during a biking event and although there were a lot of people and they had some roads taped off everyone was super friendly and didn’t mind my kids trying to ride their bikes alongside them. The lake was beautiful, a bit windy for kayaking but still fun.

Lake Houston Wilderness Park

Stayed here twice with scouts, both times we explored the trails and peach creek. Lots of wildlife in this park, saw many snakes in camp and on the trails. Made it halfway down the Ameri-trail which was clean and easily marked.

Tom Bigbee

Stayed here 2 weekend in a row. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pro and the restroom were clean. My kids loved the park and the island that was in the middle of the lake. Kayaked, hiked and fished.

Village Creek

Stayed here the weekend before Halloween, most all of the park was still closed from flooding earlier in the year. The nature center was open and we made seed balls to distribute throughout the garden area. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Will return when the trails open back up so we can explore more

Martin Dies Jr

2 night stay from Friday to Sunday. We stayed at an electric and water site. The restrooms were clean, however the park was full the weekend I stayed and ran out of toilet paper often. We hiked, swam and fished. The trails were clean as was the rest of the park.
