Spur 406 Campground sits within Amistad National Recreation Area along the Texas-Mexico border, accessible by both vehicle and boat. The terrain is open, with lake views that shift considerably depending on water levels. At $6 per night, it provides picnic tables, toilets, trash service, and fire rings, and pets are welcome. Rough Canyon Campground lies a few miles to the northeast if this site is full. Anglers and paddlers with flexible expectations about lake access will find it a workable overnight stop on a route toward Big Bend.
Description
Spur 406 Campground is generally open year-round and rarely fills up, except possibly on holiday weekends. It may close on occasion due to high water events. No ground fires are allowed. The sites are suitable for tents or RVs. Vault toilets are available. No drinking water or hookups are available.
