Sandy Creek - Town Bluff Reservoir

Boaters and anglers will find direct water access at Sandy Creek - Town Bluff Reservoir, a US Army Corps of Engineers campground on Steinhagen Lake. The facility operates year-round with electric and water hookups for RVs, plus tent camping options accessible by boat, car, or on foot.

Large sites provide ample space and shade structures, with many positioned directly on the waterfront. Larry A. notes that "a lot of the sites are water front" and each includes a picnic table, grill, and shade shelter. The campground maintains clean restrooms with showers and provides a dump station for RV waste disposal.

Campers appreciate the well-maintained grounds and typically uncrowded atmosphere. The facility lacks dedicated hiking trails, but proximity to Martin Dies, Jr. State Park Campground provides additional recreation opportunities nearby. Pets are welcome throughout the campground with standard leash requirements.

Reservations are available through the Corps of Engineers system, though walk-up sites may be found during less busy periods. The campground offers competitive pricing compared to neighboring state park facilities while providing similar lake access and amenities. This setup works well for RV campers seeking hookups with water access and tent campers who prioritize space and lakefront positioning over extensive trail systems.

Great place

Had a great time here. It is a COE park on a lake. Each site has a table, grill and shade shelter. A lot of the sites are water front. Well maintained and friendly staff.

Excellent and inexpensive

Great COE park. Spacious sites and great lake access. Can't beat the price compared to the State Park that's the next door neighbor to this park.

Nice

We liked this place. Campsites are large and decent amount of shade. Close to Martin Dies SP. Only negative is a lack of hiking trails, otherwise its a great, quiet spot.
