Rocky Point

Situated along the shores of Wright Patman Lake in northeast Texas, Rocky Point sits within the campgrounds around Wright Patman Recreation Area and gives campers direct access to one of the region's larger reservoirs. The campground is easy to reach, with reviewers noting it sits close to a major highway, making it a practical overnight stop as well as a destination in its own right. Full hookups are available for RVs up to 50 feet, with electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station and WiFi on site.

Water-based activity drives most visits here. Campers have noted a boat ramp, swim beach, and fishing access, though the beach can flood during high water periods, leaving the lake's rock-lined perimeter as the only shoreline. SUP, kayaking, and boating all see regular use. The campground also has disc golf, volleyball, a basketball net, trails, and a pavilion, so there's enough variety to fill a multi-day stay. One reviewer arriving in April was greeted by a herd of 23 deer grazing in the common areas, suggesting wildlife sightings are not unusual.

Sites in the D loop are reported to be well-spaced. The campground runs busy enough that tent campers may find themselves in the minority on weekends. Bathrooms are functional and generally clean, though some reviewers noted the bathhouse runs cool in early spring.
