    1301 4th St Sheffield TX 79781.

This is not a typical RV park, RV site or camping site. This is a 1/2-acre lot located on the edge of a small town. A primitive site. Please read the full description and look at the pictures to get a good idea of what this site is. This camping site is more for folks traveling I-10 that need a cheap place to camp for the night because it sits on a long stretch of interstate without any options for camping. There is one house to the West, one house to the East and the other houses on the block are all vacant. There is no RV pad or tent pad to setup on. It borders two large ranches on the South and East. What it does have is amazing views of the mountains and some of the best dark sky in West Texas! Very little light pollution! There is a small grove of trees for shade and water on the property. Because this is a dark sky friendly site there is no streetlight and no lights on the Sheffield Camping Signs. If coming in after dark, review a map beforehand and have a flashlight handy. There is a public park with restrooms located by the county swimming pool on the corner of Hwy 348 & Pine St.

There are no stores or gas stations in this town. The street around my site is a public street so expect to see the local folks out enjoying a slow evening drive. If that worries you then this place is not for you.

Site is self-check in. If you are interested in any local attractions, contact me. There is an art studio a mile away. There is a historic fort a few miles away. A shooting range about a mile away. And there are a few GeoCache in the area.

For the Boondock site, park your vehicle or camper behind Sheffield Camping sign near the trees. The 30amp and 50amp RV site is next to the solar panels.

Google and Apple maps are not accurate in this area so plan ahead. (Smith Ave will NOT take you to the campsite) I-10 exit 325, take Hwy 290 South 5 miles the turn South onto Hwy 349, then Left onto 2nd Ave, right onto Arizona Ave and right onto 4th St.

$10 = Boondock, tent, vehicle camping (No electricity but access to potable water)

$25 = 30amp RV plug with access to potable water

$30 = 50amp RV plug with access to potable water

          Iraan City Park Overflow

Great when all the other RV spots are full

This site is used for when the city RV park is full.  The outlets are quite dated and only 120V is available, but they are better than nothing.  This is inside a decent county park.  The trees are a little low around the road and need to be trimmed, they will hit the roof of your RV so be careful.  No water or sewer hookups.  (There is a water spigot near one of the sites if you have a longer water hose).  There is a large pavilion with tables and BBQ pits and a small swing set next to it.  Very nice place just be aware of the low hanging tree branches.

          Circle Bar RV Park

Whatever This Place Costs, It's Not Worth It

We stopped here to use their dump (for $10) since the free one at the rest stop down the road was closed.

And it kind of even isn't worth stopping to dump. Wouldn't stop here again, would rather go to a Love's or Pilot.

The place is just so dilapidated and run down and sad. Looks like it used to have some cool amenities but now it's just a barren dust storm waste land.

The soles of our shoes were covered in goat heads with each step we took so don't let the dogs out here.

2 stars instead of 1 because in spite of how run down it is, it wasn't horribly loud despite being right off the freeway, and it did function (I'm assuming the power works because we saw some RVs plugged in), and the owners were nice.

You go in to the motel to pay.

          Circle Bar RV Park

          Lock your doors

This place is at a run down truck stop. Looks like it was cool at some point but now it’s little more than a place to park and plug in. Wanna haggle over buying some broken down gutted lawn mowers? They got ya fam! Tired of worrying and corona virus? It will be the least of your worries in this almost abandoned train wreck! 1 ⭐️ for the old fords and short block speed boats locked away in the “auto museum”
