TravelerFree ocean beach camping, the water is clean and the sand is soft, but packed down enough to drive on. I have my 24ft camper trailer here no issues. Very private and peaceful. We are beside a road but there are sand dunes that block the noise. Stores are about a 15min drive away.
TravelerCamping on the beach is permitted along the dunes but do not park our camp on the dunes. Fires are permitted as long as there's no fire restrictions at the time. Please follow the trash in trash out rules as well and if you do have a fire please be sure to bury the fire. The sand is silty along the dunes so please be careful to not get stuck and if you do it'll take awhile for any trucks to get out there. Please mind the speed limit it's 15 mph on the beach you're supposed to go from west to east as well. And remember that this is an actual road that your tax dollars pay for so please be kind.
RangerWe have made day trips to this park for years, but haven’t taken a few nights and camped here - we have been missing out! Gorgeous park with miles and miles of hiking trails. Tons of wildlife - and not just the Alligators. Sites were level and spacious and very well maintained. Will be back again for sure!
TravelerThis park is only about a block off of Route 10 near Houston. Great place to stay if you are just passing through. The pool and hot tub are nice, and the lake is pretty. They've got a pretty severe red ant infestation everywhere, so you can't spend too long standing outside on the gravel or the grass.

RangerThis is an excellent campground. In my opinion, the camper pads are really nice. Long and wide can accommodate small or large campers and motorhomes. They are fire rings picnic tables. There's firewood for sale, lots of wildlife sightings. I got 5G network with T-MOBILE service and excellent television reception. The bathrooms and showers are really clean.
RangerStaying here as a pass through for a few nights. VERY clean campground. Very happy with the tidiness and keep up of it. The staff were great at check in. Sites are far enough away that you have privacy. Nice bathrooms and playground area. My dogs have enjoyed walking the big loops. Have also seen lots of alligators, as advertised, which has been pretty cool! Only downfall is the mosquitos, which isn’t the campgrounds fault. Just with the heat and swamps/lakes they are particularly bad. Large clean sites with water and electricity. My starlink is a little spotty with the trees but am still able to work remote with no major issues.

GuideWe stayed at spot 128 in the Burr Oak. It was very easy to back into, the site is super wide and full asphalt. Site was very level. Bathrooms were somewhat close, about 4 or 5 sites down with a shortcut through the woods. Not a lot of street lights throughout the campground made things nice and quiet at night. The site had good Verizon cell service, around 25-50 mbps. The Tmobile service was around the same. This place is very remote and the park itself is huge, we only stayed one night but it has a ton to offer! Overall the campground was clean, very quiet, with a ton of activities.
