Best Cabin Camping near El Paso, TX

Several cabin camping options exist near El Paso, Texas, with the Las Cruces KOA in New Mexico offering the most developed cabin rentals in the region. Located about 45 minutes from El Paso, these furnished cabins feature comfortable beds, heating systems that warm up quickly in cold weather, and access to shared facilities. "We stayed in the tent Cabin 2 and loved every minute of it. It was cold and it heated up quickly. Everything we needed for a nice stay and the bed was comfy," notes one visitor. The cabins provide basic shelter with electricity and climate control, making them suitable for year-round use despite the desert climate's temperature variations. Fort Bliss RV Park also offers cabin accommodations, though these are restricted to military personnel and their families.

KOA cabin camping near Las Cruces includes multiple cabin options with varying amenities and locations within the property. Cabins numbered 1-4 are available, with units 3 and 4 noted as "nicer" but positioned farther from the road. According to one guest, "Loved the camping cabin as a treat after a month of car camping. Hot showers, community kitchen, laundry, dog run." The pet-friendly policy extends to cabin guests, with dedicated dog areas available for exercise. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak travel seasons, as the cabins are popular with travelers using I-10. Fort Bliss cabins operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with prices ranging from $18-35 depending on military status.

Most rustic cabins in the area provide beds but require guests to bring their own linens, pillows, and towels. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between locations, with some offering access to community kitchens while others provide only basic outdoor cooking options. The Las Cruces KOA maintains a well-stocked camp store for forgotten essentials, though prices are typically higher than at retail stores. Visitors planning extended cabin stays should consider bringing cooking supplies, food items, and personal amenities. Both locations provide access to clean shower facilities and restrooms, with the KOA receiving particular praise for bathroom cleanliness. Proximity to I-10 makes these cabin rentals convenient for travelers needing comfortable overnight accommodations without the full setup of tent camping.

    Great New Mexico Stop

We stopped on either end of our trip to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. It was a great midway point from home. We stayed in a patio site. The site was spacious and level. A fire pit with chairs, a propane grill, and table with 4 chairs was provided. The kids enjoyed cornhole, basketball, tetherball, and the playground. The store was well stocked. I only wish more local products were sold. Many of the items that appeared to be made by Native Americans were actually imported from overseas. We also wish the community room had board games or movies to check out. The coffee and pastries was a great touch! We will definitely be back to explore the area more. Employees were friendly and kind. A great place to stay!

    Fort Bliss RV Park

    Only the Best

NOTE: Park is only for Active, Reservist, Retired Military members, their dependents, and blood relatives being escorted.

We stayed for 3 nights at Fort Bliss and just Wow!!! It has to be one of the best RV parks we have stayed so far.

The Pros: -Great spots -Great pricing ($25-$35 a night) -Laundry mat ($1 wash, $1 dry) -Dog run -Big grass area to play -Family group hall

The Cons: -Water pressure seemed pretty high, just so happens I lost our regulator and we blew out a hose(thankfully not an RV line) -Hot(it’s TX desert🤷🏼‍♂️)

We will most definitely stay here everytime we go through El Paso

    Las Cruces KOA

    Best KOA so far

Very good looking park. Grounds are nice and seem well maintained. Features a good looking basketball court, dog run area, child run area, and picnic area. Couldn't use the pool because it closes at 7pm - LAME!

Bathroom was old feeling, cramped, and a bit smelly. I had two silverfish in the shower with me that I didn't invite.

My site was one with no sewer hookup and I appreciate that cheaper option. Site had a picnic table and fire ring.

    Las Cruces KOA

Views for days and soft tent sites

After about 308 miles on the road today we were tired. The desolate stretches of highway between Tucson and Las Cruces had paid their toll and we were very happy to at last see the Las Cruces KOA Campground sign.

We had called in advance and were insured that tent camping was not yet full and we could come and make ourselves at home. Unknowing if we would make it before the office closed between 6:00 and 6:30 we were delighted to see the friendly face of Anne when we arrived.

She assisted us with not only a great campsite but also providing a map with items potentially of interest and some knowledge about our next days activity.

Our campsite was near the bathrooms and on a grassy area with plenty of shade. We were provided with a grill station and picnic table as well as water at the site and parking just in front along the slight fence line.

The campground facilities provided a half basketball court and play area as well as a gazebo for looking at the views during sunset. Those views were amazing overlooking the city and into the mountains as the night fell from the distance.

We found an outdoor grill area upon arrival which offered a little more relief from winds than our campsite itself so were able to use our camp stove there and also have a nice area to sit and eat peacefully.

There was a pool and it looked very inviting, however it was not open until mid month, a sad negative to us upon arrival.

I did take notice for those rv camping they also provided full hook ups and cable. To all campers wifi was available as well.

    🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰

Overall this campground gets 5 of 5 Bunnies. The security of code locked facilities as well as comfortable facilities made for a pleasant experience in Las Cruces as a pass through city on our venture.

    Las Cruces KOA

    Beautiful views

Easy access off the I10 and very close to town and stores and restaurants . The campground is set up on a hill providing beautiful 180 degree views. The staff person in the office was wonderful, professional and helpful. There is a nicely stocked store. The park is very clean and the utilities were in great shape and easy to connect. There is a concrete pad assuring a level site. The picnic table was the nicest that we have seen, it was very clean, in perfect condition and made from great material. It is a lovely campground and we’ll be back.
