My husband and I have always enjoyed camping and the outdoors. We take a lot of pride in our property and know that campers will enjoy the serenity we offer.

Camping has always been my favorite way to relax and unwind. Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in nature with someone special. Feel the warm energy sitting next to a fire or enjoy the romantic setting of our 20ft yurt nestled in the 7 acres of woods. We ask that no shoes be worn in the Yurt. We have a fire pit with firewood included. Our beautiful pond with two waterfalls. The gorgeous mature trees make for a great stay.

You can enjoy hiking, kayaking, & swimming all within 5 minutes from us at Lake Houston State Park.

2WD is all that is needed to get to our little Yurt hideaway.

The host will greet campers upon arrival then leave campers to enjoy their stay.

Hidden Gem in the Texas Swamp

We stayed at spot 128 in the Burr Oak. It was very easy to back into, the site is super wide and full asphalt. Site was very level. Bathrooms were somewhat close, about 4 or 5 sites down with a shortcut through the woods. Not a lot of street lights throughout the campground made things nice and quiet at night. The site had good Verizon cell service, around 25-50 mbps. The Tmobile service was around the same. This place is very remote and the park itself is huge, we only stayed one night but it has a ton to offer! Overall the campground was clean, very quiet, with a ton of activities.

          ONE OF OUR FAVORITES

This park is really back in there as from the office to the sites it's a good distance which is nice. Level sites and more than enough room between sites. If you like hiking, you can get it done here, just watch out for the gators.....

          very positive camp

It sounds like you had a memorable experience during your stay! Friendly staff, clean facilities, and great beach walks definitely contribute to a positive impression. It's wise to prefer the bay side sites for a quieter atmosphere and fewer crowds. Watching interesting birds adds to the charm, but it's essential to stay cautious of snakes, as you mentioned encountering a rattler. Making reservations in advance seems like a good tip to avoid any hassle, especially during busy weekends. If you need any assistance with your writing tasks, consider checking out https://payforessay.net/ for reliable help. Additionally, having reservations in advance can provide peace of mind and ensure a smoother experience during your stay, allowing you to focus more on enjoying the surroundings and less on logistical concerns.

          Great State Park for Hiking/Biking

We stayed in spot 112 in February 2024.

          • Sites are very nice, wide, and (mostly) level.
          • Campground is kept clean.
          • Bathroom is a bit outdated, but still clean.
          • Trails are very nice and appear top be kept up regularly.  Just watch out for the alligators.
          • Don't forget to reserve a spot at the observatory on Saturday nights...

          Great Spot—Busy!

We stayed here almost 10 days. Did some jockeying around because we didn’t have reservations. Friendly staff, clean facilities, great beach walks, large sites. We prefer the bay side sites—quieter and fewer people. Lots of interesting birds to see, and watch out for snakes! We saw a big rattler on the boardwalk but we gave it space and it moved off right away. I would recommend a reservation to save hassles as this place fills up on the weekends.

          Awesome location , great facilities

Starting to get busy, probably the best time of year - before it warms up and the bugs return. Short walk to beach, close to town if you need anything. Did not use facilities so no comment other than great 50 amp and good water.

Only negative is dump station is a challenge if using tote (no ramp, gotta haul up curb). Campground facilities says there is sewer hookup. There is not ( other than for hosts)

Wow! So I had no idea this place was camper friendly. This place is awesome! If the public head wasn't in such rough shape, I would give this place 5 stars! I absolutely love the history of the area and think the area should be very proud of the display here!

Houston, Tx…..Nothing to get excited about

It’s a large campground and spaces are very small. There’s a grass strip between camp sites. No picnic tables or grills. The office gave us a map and showed us how to get to our site but virtually impossible to understand. A very nice gentleman that stayed here took us to our site. He said they have no idea how to do directions and a buddy of his really messed up his camper by trolling around looking for their site. It’s very crowded and no room for awnings or for both campers side by side to put out awnings. There is a pool but it doesn’t look well maintained and there’s absolutely no chairs. Just the pool and it’s small. Laundry room is large. There’s no dog park or anywhere to walk your dog. Signs everywhere that say no pets, yet they are allowed. The flea market is only on the wknd. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and in a nice area.

We stayed in the RV loop by the beach. Quite a few sites but they aren't as crowded as some beach campgrounds. Really nice covered concrete pad with a picnic table. Nice new bath houses. The hiking trails are all through grassy areas with ticks so be aware. The beach in this area is nice and pretty flat so you can go out into the ocean pretty far.

Might as well make this a national park. Was amazing. Campground has huge level pads with big campsites. Well groomed and very clean. So many walking and biking trails. We saw around 30 alligators, 100s of birds and 2 beavers (I think). Was humid and around 85 degrees most of the time.
